However, Rasmussen currently has Trump with his biggest lead yet, 44% - 37% over Clinton. So if this is what a divided party looks like, up by 7%, then we don't need a united party, we just need a united party voting base. I'm sure Gorn will discount the Rasmussen poll, but having to discount it by 7% or more is a pretty big discount, isn't it Gorn?

 

True, but when you look at both parties total Primary votes, the total is about the same for both parties.
