Put two coins on either side of the scale. If they balance, the fifth one is fake. If they don't, put each of the heavier coins on each side. If they don't balance,the fake is the heavier of the two. If they do balance, put the next two on each side, and the fake is the lighter coin.
Weigh two coins. If they don't match. compare one to one of the other three (they're good) to find the fake If they match, they're both good. Weigh two more. If they match, the last coin is fake. If not, compare one to one of the first two to find the fake.
