haven't added a song to this thread in awhile just saw it pop up today, but don't like this song because its too feminist.

it's almost as bad as Toby Keith, Made in America, which is on the other side of the music spectrum even though i agree with him politically in the lyrics.. cheers all, thanks for keeping the thread alive.

But it does contain an element of truth.

And speaking of this topic, Amy Lee from Evanescence is another example of this.

#1 - Truth is a subjective concept, something that can be accepted or rejected according to a persons prejudices.

    #2 - No sexism by these posters. No male ever left a group to establish his own career, like;

    Lou Reed left Velvet Underground,
David Lee Roth left Van Halen,
    Justin Timberlake left NSYNC,
Axl Rose left Guns N' Roses,
    Tommy Lee left Motley Crue,
    Phil Collins left Genesis,
    Sting left the Police.
Kenny Rogers left the First Edition.....

#3 ....and according to this warped logic, these men are not careerists, they are entrepreneurs.

Pretty much everything by Phish. It's like listening to a cheesy game show host doing their worst to sing Frank Zappa while on bad acid.

O man.Just him singing? Or all the songs he wrote as well?
The man was/is? a gifted songwriter.I wish there was a modern-day version of him right now.

Okay,so just the ones where he sings, right?
His vocal prowess is nowhere near his songwriting skills. :roflol:
Like a rolling stonnnneeee. How does it feel? :roflol:
I realize exactly what you're talking about there.
What about this song? Dylan wrote that.
He sings through his schnoz, but he's a great songwriter.

Atleast half of CURRENT country music. It's basically just "Top 40" from the 1970s.

    Give me Patsy....Hank Sr.....George Jones....The Man in Black....Flatt & Scruggs....

any day over Blake Shelton and "chew tobacco, chew tobacco, chew tobacco...spit!"

I like some of Hendrix's music, that song is not my favorite by him.

As far as this kind of music goes, I have heard that Hindrix was revolutionary as was Dylan and a bunch of others, but I'm not old enough to have heard what was out there before them. To me they are just very old rock songs. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I LOVE creedance clear water revival, Van Morrison, a couple of doors songs and zeppelin.

To me battle of evermore by zeppelin was musical genius. Or schism by tool. Maybe I'm a snob, maybe there are enough musicians in the world that everybody can have an independant appreciation of them.

All I'm saying is you should hear Indian or Pakistani wedding music before you say Dylan is the worst.
    He is definitely not.

Well if you take the lose definition of music to include noise and trash you have to include the garbage they call rap or dubstep now. I think I'd prefer Pakistani wedding music over that racket.

Apparently you haven't heard it yet. :eyepopping:
They don't use the same tonal system as the rest of the world.
Chinese and Japanese music sounds fantastic in comparison.

I agree, Bob Dylans voice isn't what Id call good. I think everyone must have been stoned out of their mind when he became popular.

I was going to add that. Great songs as long as someone else is singing them.

Worst music? Pretty much anything punk/ska or gangster rap. Also a lot of modern country.

    - - - Updated - - -

Or he just spoke to people through his lyrics and they didn't let a less than perfect singing voice bother them. I have an album of his and I used to enjoy listening to it quite a bit. Haven't since then, though.
