Yes. This is not 1953 anymore. An endorsement of Hillary Clinton by the paper is is demonstrable proof the paper is not the rock ribbed republican rag the OP would like to pretend.
Perhaps it was for years, but not now.

Some people buy a newspaper because the editor and their correspondents hold similar beliefs. Some for news. And some because there is no choice. I agree that most Americans are uninformed.

Actually, I trust the customers at a barber shop more than a newspaper's spin.

I expect the owner does not want a bombastic egotist to be the next president of the United States.

Inescapably proved by her former Bush campaign donors.

Sure...............That's what it is.......... another conspiracy............

You can guess, think possible, or some secret actor in the back ground................all speculation adding up to meaningless noise..........

The problem you folks seem to have is a total ignorance of what's going on in the world around you............ Have you ever considered that as a possibility?

This is a blog on Huffington Post, not their opinion.

    BTW

Trump has no support infrastructure in the state to get out the vote or pass out yard signs and/or bumper stickers............Guess who does?

This reminds me of another surprising endorsement for a Democrat. The Chicago Tribune, a newspaper founded by a co-founder of the Republican Party, had never in its history endorsed a Democrat. In 2008 they endorsed Obama for President for many of the same reasons described in this endorsement for Clinton. One candidate (Palin) was simply unpalatable to them and called into question the man who ultimately selected her as his running mate.

Obama wasn't just the lessor of evils to the Tribune, he was enthusiastically endorsed as they stated "We have tremendous confidence in his intellectual rigor, his moral compass and his ability to make sound, thoughtful, careful decisions." Their confidence was prophetic.

Of the Republicans the paper said "The Republican Party, the party of limited government, has lost its way. They abandoned their principles, they paid the price." This statement of the Republican Party is more true today than it was in 2008.

You are incorrect. Texas is solidly red.

It was predicted up front that the traditional Republican establishment would oppose Trump in any way they could. This is no surprise whatsoever.

Guess they figured the endorsement was a cheaper ass-kissing than having to anti-up to the foundation. (who knows,.. maybe they already did....)

I frequently visit The Huffing and Puffing Post and The Baltimore Sun which are nothing more than democrats posing as reporters. Have I, or will I ever support a democrat because of what those boot licking parasites write?? Why don't you take a guess for all of us skippy.

Texas is the quintessential conservative state and Dallas its main city with the Times seen as the default spokespaper. Its opinions are a little bit more influential among conservatives than Shreveport

Good one, I almost didn't catch the full meaning

Tell me, have you ever heard the term DINO used? No? Maybe it's because we don't reject people who can vote and give us money just because they have varying thought patterns. There is a conservative wing of the Democrat Party with a long and proud history. Can the Republicans still say the same about their liberals?

And that is the equivalent to buying a newspaper?
I think someone forgot to read carefully what he was responding to.

But thanks for showing your colours and lack of objectivity.

It's print news. Some like it on paper with ink, other choose digital. Both are read at the readers will.
