Why is there no straight up presidential poll for this forum? If there is, I missed it with all the other polls. So, I want to do a poll open from now until election day, with the 4 leading candidates and a fifth option "other".

Your choice will be open to the public. Once you have voted, please write a post with a note saying something positive about your choice for president, why you think they are the best qualified. Let's have a civil and factual debate on why each candidate is the best for our country. And let's stay withing PF guidelines and not personally insult others please.

I will vote for Donald Trump. No, he is not the perfect candidate. No
he was not my first choice. I would say that he wasn't even on my
radar. But since the primaries are over and he clearly won the republican
nomination, I will vote for him gladly and with enthusiasm.

One thing Donald Trump has done that no other politician had done,
is to cut the BS and make issues that are most important to the public
    the top of the discussion.

The economy and the debt is the #1 issue. National security is tied to
this issue. Without a strong solvent vibrant economy, our national security
is at risk. We need to eliminate the debt, secure our borders and provide
economic opportunity for our people in order for us to have a strong national
defense and money to pay for rebuilding the military. We can't do any of
this with open borders. That is why his propelling the immigration issue
to the top of the national discussion was so important. This is why he
has easily won the Republican nomination.

The political establishment has not taken this issue seriously for years.
People of both political persuasions all want comprehensive immigration
reform. Starting with enforcing the laws we already have is important.
The reason comprehensive immigration reform has failed in the past is
because like in 1986, we had an amnesty with a promise that the laws
would be enforced and the border secured later. We got the amnesty,
but not the rest. This is why the people don't trust the politicians on this
issue. Both republicans and democrats have failed us for years. Nobody
wants amnesty without any other enforcement or reforms. This is why he
has made a stand that those here illegally cannot just get amnesty. We
need to know that we can trust them to enforce the laws already on the
    books.

Of course I feel that the Republican Party best represents my values,
both on economic and social issues as well. While I don't agree with
Donald Trump on everything, I do believe that we must elect Republicans
first, then hold them accountable on the issues.

That is my opinion basically, I will be glad to go into more substance in
    debating this with you.

Hands down Trump. Nobody else is even a consideration to recieve my vote, and in this climate, and how the world is in such a mess, any democrat politician ought to be banned from ever holding political office again.

But yea, I went into the primaries supporting the Cruzer. At first, I believe that Trump was only floating this sort of as a joke; to see how far it would go. But I think after awhile, as he was seeing his rise in the polls, he figured that it's a real possibility that he can be President.

It was really something when he got off the elevator, and gave his famous "Mexican illegals are rapists" speech. He was 100% correct, but I don't know if I'd take such a bombastic approach. Anyway, the degenerate, communist media was screaming and hollering how Trump was a bigot, and alot of corporate sponsors pulled his products. The fact that the leftist media was pounding anybody with chants of "racist" would make any Republican fall to his knees, snivel like a little rat, run with his tail between his legs, and fall into a corner and suck his thumb. Any Republican that said those things would be finished...in the court of public opinion.

But not trump. He stood tall, basically answered the media's racist claims by giving them the finger; saying "f*** off" At that point, I was like "Holy f***ing s***, this guy's been radicalized!"

Trump has said some sketchy things in the past, I won't deny it. But from my perspective, he probably seen the mess the world was in under obama, maybe read some Drudge or Breitbart, and became radicalized.

His immigration stance is the game changing issue for me, as it ought to be for everyone. Because if we lose this country to Muslims or illegals, do you think it's going to matter if a woman can get an abortion, or if you can find a well paying job?

The beautiful thing about Trump is that nobody can pin him down. He's a liberal because he gave money to all those bad democrats according to Mark Levin. He's the leader of a new Neo-Nazi white supremacist movement according to Glen Beck. He's uber left, he's uber right. Oh shut the heck up. Maybe he's just an ordinary American that just tries his best to understand both ends of the spectrum and take the good ideas from whatever direction their coming from. Yeah, and perhaps he's not well versed on all the issues. I would say that is true of 80 to 90% of the public.

None of the things he proposes matters unless he can get them passed a hostile congress, even with a republican majority. He is hated by both sides of the isle which will probably make him a better president than either side could have produced.

He will have very little problems getting them passed, even if, in the worst case scenario, the democrats gain control over both houses. If they block a President Trump's proposal, the guy is an egomaniac, I'll admit, so of course he will take to the airwaves, hold a prime time address, and tell the American people the names of all the Congresspeople who opposed him. He will say that he won the election, and the American people want his ideas put into practice. All who oppose him will shortly change their tunes once his millions of supporters melt the f***ing phone lines of their representatives. If they want to get re-elected, they will give Trump's proposals a serious consideration.

Also, don't discount the power of social media. Trump loves Twitter. He'll just send out a tweet listing all the names of the people who block his measures, and bam! No more obstruction!

You don't think it's a good idea to secure the border and finally address the immigration issue? To stop
terrorists and drugs and criminal illegal aliens from re-entering the country? You don't think it's a good
idea to defeat ISIS, rebuild our military or to pay down our debt? What exactly do you disagree with
Trump on policy? I never hear that from liberals, just phony charges of racism.

If you want to talk about moral compass, what about the Clinton's turns you on with regard to morality?
Bill Clinton is a serial sexual offender and Hillary has been his enabler for decades. They have broken
the laws and gotten rich on schemes and corruption. They're schemes have been bad for black people
in Africa and Haiti. Bill was paid millions of dollars in speech money and huge contributions to their
foundation from 3rd world dictators, shady businessmen and warlords at the expense of the people of
Haiti, Rwanda, Sudan, Congo and Nigeria. They made deals to strip those countries of their minerals
and oil, and ripped off the Haitians with crony capitalist disaster relief which didn't deliver the goods
as promised. They made deals to clear cut the rain forests in Columbia and sold the wood to China,
all for some more speech money and contributions to their phony foundation which is nothing more
than a slush fund for them and their friends and relatives. Did I mention Hillary's email scandal?
How she jeopardized national security, giving classified information to people who didn't have security
clearances, leaving classified information on several servers and at least 13 devices? How she
deleted 33,000 emails, probably to cover-up the aforementioned pay to play corruption and racketeering?

How can you say with a straight face that you don't like Trump's morals, a man who doesn't drink, smoke
or take drugs, has a family that loves and respects him and has been a successful businessman and
a successful television personality? Think about it and tell me how the Clinton's are better than Trump
    morally.

This is a binary choice. It is not between Clinton, Trump, Johnson and Stein. It's between Crooked
    Hillary and Honest Don.

And the first thing Hilarity will do is stick another hyperliberal socialist stooge on the Supreme Court. And then it's OVER for this country!

So two weeks into this poll
    Trump 15 votes
    Hillary 5 votes

So Trump is beating Hillary 75% to 25%.

I was on another political forum (on a Sportsman's Forum) before it got dismantled two days before the election. Trump buried Clinton 88%-12% out of about 150 polled votes. This forum gets a lot more activity, not sure why the lack of participation. I saw few damned Clinton campaign signs and even less bumper stickers prior to the election and I live in Florida. There were Trump signs everywhere and he held massive rallies in this state. That pretty much says a few things. In spite of the spin, lies, and deception of the MSM, the typical Clinton voter is ignorant of our national politics........or flat out illiterate/uninterested as a voting block. Then there are those who don't care that she's the most corrupt politician to ever run for POTUS. All that mattered was a D next to her name.
