There's no need for me to pay more. I pay a percentage perfectly fair for my income level....I would never be able to get away with paying zero. Most Americans wouldn't.

Hillary's been ranting about this for three weeks. And it's not like the American people didn't know; we were all aware that Trump had had several bankruptcies, that he had been lucky enough to secure financing and restructure. It's been well publicized over the years. But Hillary is absolutely the last person to be calling the kettle black here. There have been countless arrests associated with Clinton business dealing over the years - no legal authority, no licensing, zero accountability.

I am not a Trump supporter. However, if the news stories about his business losses are accurate, then he is not required to pay income taxes. So really this is a non-issue. There are plenty of real issues upon which one could attack Mr. Trump. This is nothing but a distraction.

That is factually incorrect. Just lose more money in your business venture than you bring in - your tax liability is then zero. That business venture could be a high-rise hotel in Vegas or it could be a hair salon in Parsippany, or a dog-sitting service in Omaha...

His tax plan calls for families earning less than $75,000 to pay only 12%. They currently pay 15%. That's a 20% delta. Those at the top go from 39.6% to 33%. That is only a 16.6% delta. The lower-earners are getting a better deal than the evil rich guys. Clinton's plan does not call for any changes to the Middle Class rates, only an increase to the top earners. These are the people with the wherewithal to move their assets offshore to avoid what would become a punitive, confiscatory 43.4% marginal rate on the wealthiest Americans.

Again this is factually incorrect. Any person engaged in business is legally entitled to carry losses forward for up to 20 years according to our 70,000-page IRS code.

 

Which does not change the fact that he is legally entitled to carry forward his business losses. Focus on his moral character, his record, his lies, his lack of political experience, and multiple other issues. But focusing on this issue is a waste of time.

Used to be that republicans continuously complained about the fact that 40+% of Americans don't pay any federal taxes, were leaching off the rich, and were sucking on the government teat.

Now those same republicans are calling Donnie a "genius businessman" for not paying any taxes and leaching off the people and sucking on the government teat. Must be because he's just an average american with $10 billion, just like them.
