Overall crime decreasing is a global trend, you're not special.

Guns can't be controlled, which is why automatic weapons are popping up all over Europe in the hands of Islamic terrorists. The only thing you can do is prevent people inclined to naturally follow the law from having them.

Yes, we have 3 times the murder rate. We also have a higher population density, ten times the population, and share a border with the most violent part of the world and it's drug cartels.

Enjoy your increased "multiculturalism" we'll see how it turns out for you. We see how it's working out in Europe.

Newsflash: 2nd and 3rd generation Muslims are the ones carrying out terror attacks all over Europe and the US.

And 10th generation americans and europeans are carrying out mass murder attacks as well, they just have a different motivation, but they are equally as sick.

YOU were the one that claimed crime was increasing in Canada. Move those goal posts.

You sure as hell can control access to guns, its just that the paranoid see any common sense controls as the death of the 2nd. typical illogical nonsense.

Er, population density and population size has NOTHING to do with per capita murder rates per 100,000. Who knew that the evil mexicans and the drug cartels were responsible for so many murders that it accounts for the rather distressing american murder rate. Boy you really do have a handle on what's going on that others don't seem to.

Well, we've had it as official policy in Canada for 40 years plus. So far its turned out to be a very good thing for our country and our people.

    Like I said, ass backwards.

It is a specious argument that wars are caused by culture clash. Wars are fought over resources and territory and political ideologies. Can you point to a single modern war fought over culture?

    Didn't think so.

    - - - Updated - - -

So you admit that culture is not the motivation for war. At least that's a start.

Why don't you control for socioeconomic background and see if the black and white homicide rates become the same?

Well if one wants to consider religious motivation as a culture thing, then the crusades (fought 700 years ago might qualify). Other than that I suggest you pick up a history book some time, because the rest of your list are all wars fought over POLITICS, TERRITORY and RESOURCES.

The American Civil War. The South seceded so they could preserve their culture. The North succeeded in military and cultural dominance.

If you consider gang warfare, we currently have a war between Mexicans and Blacks. There is a struggle for housing and jobs. So the struggle is for resources, but the warring factions are drawn on cultural and racial lines.

These are the sort of problems I see with allowing unrestricted immigration of Mexicans and Muslims. The country fragments into hostile cultural and racial camps. Even without overt violence, this is undesirable.

Multiculturalism erodes social cohesion. This is a well established fact. It is the tragedy of the Left that the humans we have are poor materials for building the Leftist Utopia.

Multiculturalism, or diversity, also lowers social cohesion and sense of community. It shouldn't be a surprise, then, if diverse societies are correspondingly more racist.

But the reality is that multiple cultures cannot cohabitate peaceably. It will always be "us against them" regardless of who the us and them are. Look, hate makes the world go round; it's evolutionary. It's us against them; get over it.

No, they were fought over ideology and culture. Religion is a primary factor in culture, as is choice in system of government a la communism.

These fights happen within the groups contained inside these countries as well, such as the culture clash between Europe and those from the ME.

Pull your head out of the sand.

I said enjoy the increasing crime, and as those minority cultures increase, so will your violence.

You cannot control guns. Europe certainly can't, and neither can states like California.

Population density has everything to do with crime, which of course is why there are more crimes committed per capita in large cities on average.

Yeah we'll see how it works out for you. Look at Europe. That's your future.

Except it didn't. Rome can be cited as a historical example of our present predicament. At the height of the Roman Empire's power, they had separate provinces that were distinct from the capital of Rome. But when the politics became intermeshed and Rome had to govern over those multiple territories, the tide turned against Rome.

People are individuals, Individual States represent individual people. The idea of consolidating the States, equates to consolidating the people. In other words: Globalism is an eternal failure, which has no chance of success.

They're not doing it because they hate the entirety of western culture. Most mass shooters are mentally ill and on psychotropic drugs.

Muslims know exactly what they're doing.

Or to simplify it for those who can't get it: Water and oil don't mix. And multiculturalism is the attempt of getting water and oil to mix. Separately however, water and oil can both add things to the table. It's about using the right ingredients(and in this case, the right cultural mix of peoples) for a country to thrive.

One common culture is better than many cultures. The culture of the US must stand on its own, and not be a hashtag of many cultures. There's only room for one United States of America.

So somebody that thinks that randomly murdering people is religiously okay and that they will enter into paradise because of it, isn't mentally ill? IMO, ALL Religious fanatics suffer from mental illness.

    - - - Updated - - -

We've had multiculturalism as policy for as long or longer than most European countries. Maybe we are their future if they embrace it for what it can truly be.

It can just as easily increase social cohesion, while providing both a sense of ones "ethnic" community and of being part of the larger national community.
Multiculturalism isn't the cause of increased racism. Fear, ignorance and ethnic chauvinism are though.

    Please provide evidence.

Studies on diversity show the opposite of what you claim.

No, mental illness is something that is treatable. There is a lot of questions revolving around the role of psychotropic drugs and if they aren't in some way responsible for increased levels of violence in the mentally ill.

Religious zealotry is not a mental illness. It's certainly not treatable.

Most of the 2nd and 3rd generation Islamic attackers reason their actions based on western cultures actions.

    That's not insanity. That's revenge.

Hmm...facts please? (I know this is an opinion topic though)

I lump all mass murder's with psychological disorders...why do you give Muslims a pass?
Their mass murderers are equally mentally insane.

Why is diversity desirable if leads to less sense of community and social cohesion?

It worked; it simply wasn't, "lousy management" proof.

Even our Founding Fathers were "hard pressed" to come up with something better.

I will also note that it only happens in white or historically white countries like Germany, US, UK, etc...you NEVER see them ask Japan, China, Brazil or Saudi Arabia become more racially diverse in the name if multiculturalism.

    I'm talking about this study.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6308683.stm

    Younger Muslims 'more political'

13% of young Muslims polled said they admired groups like al-Qaeda
Young Muslims are much more likely than their parents to be attracted to political forms of Islam, a think tank survey has suggested.
Support for Sharia law, Islamic schools and wearing the veil is much stronger among younger Muslims, a poll for the centre-right Policy Exchange found.
The report's lead author, Munira Mirza, blamed government policy for a growing split between Muslims and non-Muslims.
She said ministers should engage with Muslims as citizens.
The survey of more than 1,000 Muslims from different age groups in the UK, found:

71% of over-55s compared with 62% of 16 to 24-year-olds feel they have as much, if not more, in common with non-Muslims in Britain than with Muslims abroad

19% of over-55s compared with 37% of 16 to 24-year-olds would prefer to send their children to Islamic state schools

17% of over-55s compared with 37% of 16 to 24-year-olds would prefer living under Sharia law than British law

28% of over-55s compared with 74% of 16 to 24-year-olds prefer Muslim women to choose to wear the hijab

3% of over-55s compared with 13% of 16 to 24-year-olds admire organisations like al-Qaeda that are prepared to fight the West
