    http://wtnh.com/2016/10/14/judge-dismisses-newtown-families-lawsuit-against-gun-maker/

Conn judge has dismissed the the lawsuit brought by Sandy Hook parents against Remington Arms. The parents wanted to blame the gun maker for selling the type of weapon used for this massacre.

Good call Judge !! If that suit continued and it still may it could ruin our domestic gun industry.

The weapon was used for the purpose it was designed and manufactured for - killing ! It did not malfunction.

I as a Connecticut resident am still sickened by the murder of all those kids but i was not Remington Arms who did the shooting it was a evil POS using a tool as it was designed for, killing.

    ANYONE DISAGREE?

I don't disagree. Something like this could have opened up a large can of worms.

I actually agree 100%, but give it some time, some gun grabber will come in here and try and blame the manufacturer for what an INDIVIDUAL choose to do, Micheal Moore style.

Good call indeed. No manufacturer should be held accountable for what people choose to do with their products.

Good to see. Was a frivolous, political lawsuit to begin with.

"Little Jimmy is dead. Might as well use his corpse to advance our left-wing political agenda".

Remington is as much to blame for Newton as Renault is for the Nice France attack.

Guns are no more designed for murder than a penis is designed for rape.

This just in, BSNBC reporting that the group "Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence" has evidence that Renault is involved in Nice France attack...More to follow

I obviously agree with the judge but guns are designed for killing ( not necessarily muder) and one important function of the penis is to deliver sperm to it,s target and deliver and evoke sexual pleasure . So yes using a penis for rape or a gun for murder is a missuse of a tool.

If rape victims start suing the manufacturer and the designer of the penis we can get into a major legal crisis.

Arguably guns can prevent killing by dissuading an attacker from pressing the issue.

Most DGU's, after all, result in no shots fired and the hasty retreat of an attacker.

    A gun is a weapon.

Weapons can be used either defensively or offensively, so no, I don't agree that the "purpose" of a firearm is killing.

Are they going to force the families to pay Remington's legal bills?

I hope yes. This lawsuit was outrageous and disgusting.

The suit was ill conceived and their intention was obvious that they want to end civilian ownership of rapid fire large magazine carbines, rifles, and hand guns.

Yet if we had a system here where the loser pays for the court costs of the entity being sued that would end class action suits and no small guy would ever be able to stand up against the big guys.

We may line that if it,s not our Oz being gored. Our system has trade offs.
