There are several problems with the article you link to.

First and foremost, its title. Nobody in his right mind would ever claim that there are ties between Jews and the al-Aqsa Mosque. It was built by Muslims, for Muslims. No Jewish connection whatsoever.

Now that this thorny issue has been cleared, it's safe to proceed further. The Jewish connection is to the ground on which the mosque stands. Sacred ground for Jews.

The source given is an article from the October 13th issue of Al Jazeera. I made several searches on Al Jazeera with terms like Meir Ben-Dov, al-Aqsa, Israeli archaeologist, Western Wall, and a few others. Couldn't find the article. I'd appreciate some help with this matter.

On to the ridiculous "An Israeli archaeological expert has asserted that there is no relation between the Western Wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and an ancient Jewish temple". Here's an excerpt from an article written by said Israeli archaeological expert for the Biblical Archaeological Review magazine:

    http://cojs.org/meir-ben-dov-herods-mighty-temple-mount-biblical-archaeology-review-12-6-1986/

From the above quote becomes clear that Ben-Dov's view of the Western Wall is that it's one of the four retaining walls built by Herod, linking it to the Temple and the ground on which it stood.

Before Israel was called Palestine, the land was called Judea.

    Chinese are from China.
    Russians are from Russia.
    Italians are from Italy.

    Jews are from Judea.

    Got that, SamSkwamch? :roflol:

Not so sure about that but we can agree on is that they are back home where they all came from.

    - - - Updated - - -

Sam is Jewish so if he does not believe that then one would have to surmise that his parents and ancestors came from some other place. In any case, it matters not, Israel is home of the Jews and is not going anywhere.

I suspect this is the story you are on about Sam

However it was nothing of the sort. Here is what it was all about

    http://jfjfp.com/

and here is the UNESCO ruling

    http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0024/002462/246215e.pdf

UNESCO is simply trying to stop this

Israel’s encirclement of al-Aqsa ‘nearly complete’

Al Aqsa is just a building and not that pretty, Jews have no links to that Muslim building, we are linked to the mount that its built on, that's why we dig around that place and the west wall.

LOL Ronstar has spoken so it must be truth. Even before this story broke those that know have known for awhile, Ashkenazi have no claim to Palestine. You can throw all that anti semitic garbage in the trash where it belongs. It's nothing more than a last ditch effort to hold on to right wing propaganda.

    Clearing up the confusion:

    1) The UN never set the record straight as they never said what they were accused of saying.

    2) The story broke in the Israeli press. They were whining about something that never happened and some just ran with it.

    3) None of this discounts what we learned from the Israeli archaeologist in the OP or what we learned from the Israeli Emeritus Professor of History at Tel Aviv University from this thread:

so you're saying the ancient Hebrews didn't migrate to Canaan and take over most of the land after years of conquests?

So. There is no temple mount in Jerusalem. There were never Jews in Jerusalem. Christianity is a lie.
The only thing that was is Muhamad riding Pegasus to Jerusalem, which the Muslims failed to name in the Koran.
    Some logic there. ROTFL

and this isn't racism? Dehumanisation of Palestinians is now considered absolutely fine it would appear. At least it can be seen where you are coming from.
