Gasoline should have already started to break down at this point in the Zombie Apocalypse, so they shouldn't be able to even drive unless they are using just diesel powered vehicles. But who is going to build or adapt a methane or alcohol powered engine? The survivors don't seem like a bunch of engineers or mechanics. The skills to do that isn't there.

I like to play with stuff like that, check out you tube and see all the blokes playing with steam and wood gas and other alternative fuels.

They don't seem very smart about anything, when the boy was shot in the freak hunting accident, and the Veterinarian did the surgery successfully, they freaked out because he was a veterinary surgeon, that would not have bothered me in the least, if I am shot, I have no problem with being operated on by a skilled veterinary surgeon if the alternative is no medical attention, in a Zombie apocalypse type situation.

You need highly skilled People in a scenario such as that.

Sure, but those people weren't "happy" about having to eat their friends. :) The people on TWD are something else. Lol. I think there would probably be some people who would definitely resort to violence though, but a lot of others would not. Let's hope there would be more of the "would nots."

I just watched it a little while ago because I was out and missed it last night. :omg: That kind of violence is just a little too much for me. I hate that kind of violence, but at the same time I can't seem to stop watching this show because I NEED to know what happens next!

I'm curious as to how you feel about last night's premier? :)

I like the series, but man I hated this last episode. I mean did I really need to see a full-blown psychopath act out his gruesome mindset for 3/4ths of an hour? They went too far here because I can't imagine any sort of retribution fitting for this "Negan." Can you imagine there were leaders throughout history that enjoyed torturing others and torturing souls like this individual. Holy crap.

I'm skimming quickly so I don't see who was killed. I heard it was Abraham and Glen...... and Daryl ( my babe lol) kind of caused it.
Not into gross violence but I must watch it later.

Nitpicking a great show but, there shouldn't be that many zombies left by this time. like fuel, the meat and muscle will rot off the bone and they won't be able to stand.

Eventually I guess that would happen. They have been looking pretty bad as the series goes on. Kind of gray looking and boney.
They use to be perkier looking zombies. lol

Not to mention civilization collapsed way too fast. It was like the entire population of LA died overnight out of nowhere. I wanted this show to be about the slow collapse of civilization, but instead they just decided to just skip all of that entirely and turn it into another Walking Dead.

And the way they portrayed the military was pretty cliché and pathetic.

Actually if you think about it, that's how royalty got started. Raiding warlords enslaving the locals to provide for him...and in couple of generations Negan's heirs could be kings.

The show seems to be gritty realistic except for the that one thing; dead coming back to life. There are no ghosts or vampires or other supernatural or science fiction goings on, it's our world with the one thing. So when it comes to that one thing, I can give them a pass since I don't know how long it takes a zombie to rot since they are not normal corpses.

Those would be my complaints for Fear as well. The MAIN thing that would have made this interesting is to have covered the parts that TWD skipped, namely how the zombie apocalypse started and how it collapsed civilization so quickly. Instead, in their first season they did a major skip in the first season where one episode things are looking bad, and the next episode it's several weeks later and the military has fenced off their neighborhood and the rest of LA was deserted. So...at what point did they realize that this wasn't just some plague, but that the dead were reanimating? Why and how did zombies beat every military in the world? How did civilization collapse? The Secret Service really couldn't keep zombies out of the White House? They blew a great opportunity.

What makes FTWD not good is the cast. The most important thing. There isn't a single cast member on that show that I'd like to meet.

You must have took a sanitized history class. Vlad III the Impaler of Wallachia (the real life basis of Dracula) was called that because he used to sit his enemies on sharp spikes so that they would slowly be impaled on them. Countess Elizabeth Báthory tortured and killed hundreds of girls. Torture was routinely used during the middle ages by the nobility to gain confessions. Look at Hitler, Stalin or ISIS.

Negan is not a psychopath, he is lazy. He uses extreme violence to shock and scare people into doing what he wants them to do. He could have used diplomacy, but that would have taken much longer and been much harder.

Besides, you have to have a really evil villain to make it much more satisfying when the heroes win.

That's absolutely a legitimate complaint. None of the characters are likable. That show needs a major die off.

Oh yeah I know about some of those guys, although I'll definitely try and find a documentary on Báthory. Never heard of her. And yes, my grade-school history classes were rated G. I didn't start learning real history until I got out of high school and started watching documentaries.

I disagree with Negan not being a psychopath. He enjoyed himself too much and I bet if they did a backstory on him, they're probably gonna allude to subtle signs that the character was pretty twisted.

I think there have been plenty of people throughout history who have used such violence to gain control and assert their authority. It's a cold, cold world out there. People do that and worse in real life.

Well, that's probably true. Nobody does it themselves unless they like it.

What's Ezekial's deal? He doesn't seem to be leading by coercion but there's something amiss. he's so open and forthcoming to strangers Morgan and Carol, but keeps secrets from his own. What big role is a young white boy going to play in his administration that EZ has big plans for? He seems like a straight shooter which makes me suspicious. Will Rick and company get sick from eating walker fed pigs?

Yeah, he seems a little bit TOO nice. Something is not right. He probably feeds people to his tiger when he gets mad.

I think people would be surprised what they are capable of when they feel desperate.

    Such cynics! :D

Yeah, but when you surround a small group of unarmed people with an army, you are hardly feeling desperate.
