Some of the Electoral College Republicans Will Vote for Hillary on Dec. 15

“On December 19, the electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots,”
the petition states. “If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. We are calling on the electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton.”

Votes still are being counted, but the electoral map suggests that Trump will finish with 306 electors to Clinton’s 232. But that margin of victory could be erased, and the election handed to Clinton, if 38 of those 306 Republican electors switch their votes. And prior to the election, several of them indicated that they just might do so if Trump won.

Long derided as an archaic and undemocratic 18th century throwback, the Electoral College was designed for an election just such as this: a last-chance check-and-balance to undo a vote in which the people might have made elected a popular but unqualified demagogue who threatened to lock up his political opponent.

My take: [/B]Trumpregrexit! Looks like this election is not over yet and the electoral college might stick their 270 middle fingers up Trump's rear end to see how he likes being screwed!!!

There are serious penalties in some states for faithless electors, also it would be political suicide. Elector votes aren't secret and are openly cast amongst the other electors from the state.

Further the Congress can disregard a state's electoral ballot results.

I think Wisconsin may flip once all the votes are counted.

That means we would only need a few dozen Electors to flip towards Hillary.

Its not likely, its not easy, it would take a lot of work.

But it can be done!!!

 

Hate to tell you wanna be revolutionaries, but the electoral college results are not final. It would then go to the Republican controlled Congress which can toss out the EC vote. The Congress is the one that is the last check in the system and it has been for practically ever

It's against the law in Wisconsin. The electors must go with the popular vote in WI. per law.

Your title thread states that some electoral college republicans WILL vote hillary but there is no the slightest evidence that this will happen.

The petition is meaningless and irrelevant. Yes everyone knows it is hypothetically possible for some of the electors to vote different is is an unrealistic and stupid expectation.
