Clinton absolutely should have picked Warren. She chose the "safe bet" and failed. She failed because she doesn't have the charisma to excite people to turn out on election day. The idea of an all female ticket was too risky for her. Had she taken that risk there would have been the excitement she needed, especially among the younger more progressive voters.

    Good triumphed over evil.

Trump and the deplorables pulled it off even when the foreign oligarchies, George Sorros, the Obama White House, the MSM, Hillary's paid brown shirts agitators and the GOP establishment couldn't take down the Trump and stop the ant-political correctness, ant-globalist and the anti-establishment movement.

Kinda like reliving the November of 1980 all over again.

My first thought was great relief that Hillary lost, closely followed by the hope that President-Elect Trump be a better President than he was a candidate. I could not vote for either, but felt certain (and chagrined) that Hillary would win. I pray for our leaders, and am happy that the Clinton era is done so that I no longer have to include them, but I'm not ecstatic about the new POTUS. However, he is due the respect and support that comes with the office - hopefully he will also earn them.

You can thank the endless media narrative for that.

If I was a Hillary supporting Democrat, I wouldn't have wasted my time going to vote since she was after all, an inevitable winner.

    LOL.

judging from my facebook feed, I can't imagine how upset liberals were amongst themselves. Many of my liberal friends were crying and hugging each other over it.

Most people have no idea how policies affect their lives, so it's understandable how upsetting some of those things can be. Every time I spend an hour in traffic, meaning every day, is a day I want to vote in a pure libertarian to abolish all zoning laws. Every time I look at my student loans I want to destroy the higher education system as it currently is and get rid of this ridiculous credentialing process that we use in so many fields.

I'll never be a libertarian, but I firmly believe that reducing zoning laws and credentialism would be hugely beneficial to the country.

I'd like to believe that, but they had really low turnout. If they had shown up, we'd be at their mercy right now.

Now that we have power, the first thing that needs to happen is to jump on the immigration problem.

That's an interesting to place to be when you realize the outcome. Pretty visceral to say the least.

I will say that people aren't as stupid as I thought. I believed the media had totally brainwashed the population, but I was clearly wrong about this. That's not to say that they haven't had a hugely detrimental effect, but it wasn't what I thought it was.

I thought the left would crush us and was pleasantly surprised when they didn't win.

The letter was very influential, but the left needs to examine the many shortcomings of their platform.

We'll see what happens. I am cautiously optimistic.

When he won Florida, I knew it was in the Trump bag, and I cracked a cold one and shouted "YES!"

Afterwards, it started dawning on me that this isn't just about not hearing from the Clintons any more. It's about the democratic party as a whole. They have been decimated, and it will take many years for them to recover, if ever. Inbetween Debby Schulz and Donna Brazile, wikileaks, the veritas videos, Wiener's sexual escapades, I don't see a way for them to recover from this.

Then what has been happening on the SJW and BLM fronts, they have been getting just as badly beat up. They would be jokes, except for how violent and dangerous they are. While Trump drains the swamp in Washington, we've got to help drain the swamps of academia and the media.

I also thought Hillary would win. I didn't look at this as a left/right election. Trump has held some pretty left leaning views throughout most of his life. Now I will just wait and see how he governs.

I felt amazed relief. It was not the outcome I expected. I thought maybe, just maybe, he could draw an inside straight by taking Florida, Nevada and NH along with on Elector in Maine to get to 270 but it looked tough. I never expected him to take PA, MI and WI.

How President Trump will change America's military.
    ~
A near certainty under a Trump Presidency is the total overhaul of the Veteran's Administration. Trump has pounded away on the topic since he first announced his candidacy, and it's a promise he has to keep once in office. This will likely include a total restructuring of the VA's top management, and more of a focus on providing veterans access to healthcare outside of the traditional VA system. Also going after waste and fraud within the VA will be a top priority.

Some time ago, there was a story about university students feeling threatened by the sight of Donald Trump's name written in chalk on campus grounds. They regarded it as a racial and ethnic slur being made against them.

It will prove interesting to see how these college university safe spaces are affected by the fact that Donald Trump is soon to be the new president of the united states. They certainly cannot go and claim that the name of the president of the united states cannot be spoken or displayed on campus grounds.

I expected Trump to win the popular vote and for Hillary to become president via the Electoral College; but I was certain that the GOP would retain control of the House and Senate as there was no credible indications that the nation wanted to replace them with Dem Party legislators. I never bought that particular tid bit of -- let's face it -- Left-Allied Mainstream Media political propaganda promoted for the DNC's benefit.

Or to put it another way, the nation replaced Dems with Republican legislators across the board in both the 2010 and 2014 mid-term elections, and there were no indications that the reasons that people did this had changed. Oh and this is also another reason why I do not buy into the myth that Barack Obama has a 60% popularity rating. Had that been true, really true, then his control of the Legislative Branch would never have ended.

both times Obama won the popular vote, Trump has never won the popular vote.... ever

many dems did not get out and vote, so yes, Trump won by default...

Obama had two terms, Trump will only have one.... watch and see my friend

we can't compare house and senate seats until Trump leaves office, kinda hard to say what he will lose at this point

First off, once the ACA was passed Obama's approval rating fell to 42% in 2010 which enabled the GOP to gain 63 house seats. The majority of Americans were against the ACA and still are. In 2012 Obama's approval rating rose to 53% and he won re-election, in 2014 his approval rating was down again to 43% and the Republicans captured the senate. This year he stands at 52%, but he wasn't running, Clinton was and she had a disapproval rating of 57%. The majority of Americans disliked her and also dislike Trump.

This year the numbers in the senate were against the GOP, 24 seats up for re-election vs. 10 for the Democrats and in the end, the Republicans lost two of their 54 seats. They also lost six house seats with eight more still to be decided, so that loss may be even higher in the house. In the end it was pretty much a 50-50 election all around.

I personally thought not only Illinois and New Hampshire would fall to the Democrats, but they would also pick up Wisconsin, Pennsylvania senate seats with North Carolina, Missouri and Nevada being tossups. I thought wrong. This was an election everything had to go exactly right for Trump to win and for the GOP to retain the senate, it did.

You listen to his acceptance speech? Far from it.

    - - - Updated - - -

Blacks voted in lower numbers and lower percentage for Clinton this election. It isn't the number that vote it's the percentage that matters.

I did listen to Obama's and Trumps acceptance speeches, very good speeches, neither was arrogant

I do not disagree, many black voters did not like Clinton she tried to motivate them, but they did not get it, it was her or trump, now they get it.... but it's too late

many been protesting for days, but could not spend a hour or two voting when it counted.... hard lessons learned, their not voting was a vote for Trump
