Are you trying to say Comey didn't charge her because there was nothing there, OR was he TOLD not to charge her? I sure that all the investigative material on the Email Scandal will be reviewed by the incoming attorneys appointed by the newly appointed AG Sessions. Before that is done, I'm sure that a lot of resignations will be requested by Sessions and a new crew will be coming in. I don't expect any action on this until around June of 2016. But it's not going away, just as the Fast and Furious debacle will also be reviewed.

That's an offense that has already been investigated and even admitted.

 

I would like the FBI Director to be replaced, and I'd like to see the whole case reviewed by an independent counsel.

I would like the Trump administration to wall itself off from the investigation and have no influence on it whatsoever.

If she's cleared, fine. If not, if there are actionable crimes, she should be the same as you or I would be if we committed them.


At the same time, I understand the desire to look forward and just let that thing die. She's old, and she is defeated, and healing the country is of no small importance.

So I have mixed emotions on this one.

What I find interesting are the liberals carping and whining that Trump may not pursue this. I think they are disappointed that this very divisive issue might not hang around for the first year of Trump's presidency. I think they want to spend that year ginning up hate for Trump using the Hillary investigation as the catalyst.

That is what I was alluding to. The incoming AG sweeps the DOJ of all or most of the attorneys appointed by Holder and Lynch out, by requesting their resignation or be terminated. Then assigning new attorneys to the investigations of the F&F, IRS, Veteran's Admin, the Hill Emails, and the Clinton Foundation. There's a lot of work there and a lot of perps in that pile.

I agree that Gowdy, who was the tip of the spear for the GOP witch hunt accomplished his mission which was to discredit Secretary Clinton by grandstanding for the press. His performance was internal to getting Trump elected. However, if there were any indictable crimes committed by Clinton, she would have been arrested and charged. There were none, so she will not be charged, much less convicted. Watch and see.

It's called a prima facie case: clear on the basis of known facts.

It's up to prosecutorial discretion by the US Attorney as to what charges may be filed and when. Nonetheless, Mrs. Clinton is clearly chargeable for violation of federal law. As of right now, the matter is under FBI investigation. This isn't just about violation of Departmental policy.

This is a comparable case. What Hillary supporters have not been able to acknowledge is the seriousness of her actions to be felony violations. Notwithstanding the FBI investigation, the new AG beginning January 21, 2017 has the right to review previous important investigations and if found necessary an independent counsel can be assigned to further investigate and if needed prosecute the alleged violator of Federal National Security regulations.
