Nevertheless, despite pushing as hard for Hilla as Bill does for chubby interns, they were on the losing side.

Its actually quite fascinating how hardcore feminists are quite happy to condemn Christianity for its past sins yet unable and unwilling to condemn Islam, which in the present is enslaving women and tossing gays off rooftops.

With respect, this is really not the case - at least not where I live. However, Progressives do dislike conservatives (unless they're Muslim, of course), so that's probably what you're seeing. Since many Christians are conservative, there's a circumstantial link.

It's because they're outstandingly ignorant and outstandingly arrogant. They actually believe that given adequate hugs from Progressives, such people will stop being meanies, and start living like secular Americans. They are deluded enough to believe that their special brand of 'compassion' is so powerful and compelling that none can resist it's allure. They imagine a world in which the full burkah wearing woman is hanging out with green haired non-binary lesbians, and radical Imams are mixing it up with gay boys and trannies. All because they're so very awesome that they have the power to change 1500 years of adherence to dogma, regardless of where it travels.
