Ford to scrap Mexico plant, invest in Michigan due to Trump policies

Ford Motor Company on Tuesday announced plans to cancel the building of a $1.3 billion plant in Mexico and instead invest $700 million in a Michigan assembly plant, directly tying the decision to “pro-growth policies” championed by President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump had previously been critical of Ford’s plans to build in Mexico.

CEO Mark Fields, speaking at an event at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant, said the policies that Trump “and the new Congress have indicated they will pursue” were vital to the company’s decision.

“We believe these tax and regulatory reforms are necessary to boost U.S. competitiveness,” Fields said.

The investment in the Flat Rock plant is set to create 700 jobs, according to Fields.

And Trump is not even President yet. I bet, Obama is scratching his head... WTF did I do wrong and why nobody did this during my presidency?

Or, perhaps, Obama will find a way to take credit for this?

Ford, like other companies, are trying to reap in the spotlight right now over Trump.

It'll be interesting to watch how the left tries to shoot this one down. Somehow this will be a bad thing, they would have preferred those jobs going to Mexico.

It's not a surprise to many of us that a pro-business leader is helping to turn things around. Businesses don't want to feel attacked by their Government, which is what Obama was all about.

 

HAHAHA Obama gets this credit, you must be joking. Trump is full of wining.

 

Oh? How does Obama get credit? You just admitted they did this because of Trump.

 

Now if only trumps policies could get Trump to move the jobs he outsourced...telling he doesn't even have enough faith in his own policies.

 

Ford seems to have enough faith in his policies. That matters more, I think.

Hopefully this will be the pattern that follows Trump into his Presidency. The left won't like it, but American workers will.

 

Liberals don't like it when other union liberals get to keep their jobs because credit would go to a republican.

 

They'd rather have American jobs be lost than have a Republican get credit for anything good.

Tuesday's announcement was the latest in a string of pre-inauguration successes for Trump in the manufacturing sector.

In early December, air conditioner and furnace maker Carrier agreed to stay in Indiana after weeks of negotiations headed by Vice President-elect Mike Pence. The decision reportedly saved about 700 jobs that would have been shifted to Mexico.

Later in the month, wireless provider Sprint and Internet company OneWeb announced they would be adding thousands of jobs in the U.S. Both companies are controlled by SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son, who had previously met with Trump.

 

Trump was under the same regulations and policies as those he was competing against.. He is trying to change said regulations and policies.. ITs like claiming someone forced to pay for insurance they dont want supports Obamacare.

 

He's off to a good start, is not he? And Trump' not even a president yet.
