America had one of the most divisive elections in modern history. The president elect is disliked by more people than those who like him. Many Americans refuse to call him their president. Half the nation took every legal step to block his upcoming inauguration. There has been and will continue to be protests and rallies against Trump. Many have accused Trump of stealing the election. Many have accused Russia of interfering and thus voiding the election results. Many, too many, will never consider Trump to be a legitimate president.

Yet....

President Obama is going to put his stuff in that truck and drive off.
Then Trump will take over.
No tanks on the streets.
No troops encircling the Whitehouse to keep Trump out.
No martial law declared by Obama to keep himself in office.
No refusal by congress to accept Trump's authority as president.
No attempt by the courts to nullify the election.
No coup by the military generals.

Just a smooth transition of power.

House Passes Bill To Undo Months Of Obama Regulations With Just One Vote

"Because outgoing administrations are no longer accountable to the voters, they are much more prone to issue midnight regulations that fly in the face of the electoral mandate the voters just gave the new, incoming administration," said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte before the vote. "Waves of midnight rules can also be very hard for Congress or a new administration to check adequately."

Any federal regulation approved since May could be voided by the Republican-led Congress once President-elect Donald Trump moves into the White House and can sign off on their disapproval.

It would take just a simple majority of both chambers to reverse a rule, giving Senate Democrats little power to block a vote with a filibuster. Disapproving each regulation separately could take days, so Republicans will simply vote once to end a variety of new rules on energy, the environment, transportation, banking, finance, education and media ownership.

The House is also expected to consider soon legislation that would require a congressional vote of approval for any new regulation.
