I have to agree with think for myself on this one, let justice work it's course. Wanting him to be raped defeats our social constructs.

 

Regardless of the race issue that is mass slaughter and should be dealt with appropriate punishment.
The law does not distinguish if one is black or white that's why lady justice is blindfolded.

 

You do realize that a inmate in a state without the death penalty a prisoner can kill 5 guards and can't be put to death? Doesn't seem right.

The death penalty wasn't originally "cruel and unusual", being imprisoned for lengthy times was.

People who committed murder, rape, and even robbery were pretty much immediately put to death. Hell, the last public execution was in 1936.

Didn't Roof freely admit that he killed those people because he wanted to and that he had no regret about doing it? Didn't he say that he would do it again?

If you want every scumbag literally tortured to death how many are you willing to torture to death yourself? Do you think your family and friends would approve of your new occupation and be comfortable being around you? Would there be any difference at that point between you and an ISIS thug who beheads people?

 

I didn't say that executions are cruel and unusual punishments. The discussion was about prisoners being raped and tortured while in the custody of the State. That is cruel and unusual punishment.

Long prison sentences in today's criminal justice system are meant to replace slavery.

had he got lwop, that might be true, but with the DP they are put in their own cell and watched as they do not want them to kill themselves prior to executing them

I wonder if any of these jurors are against the death penalty but were afraid they'd be attacked if they didn't vote for it.
