I think if Trump hadn't sent the Press Secretary out to talk about this issue, and if Trump hadn't spent 10 of his 15 minute talk to the CIA discussing this issue, the press wouldn't be covering it so heavily. The crowd size my be irrelevant, but it's what the President wants to talk about, so here we are, talking about it. Crowd size is a provable fact and Trump is lying. Period. A big part of the Fourth Estate's job is to point out when leaders lie. So here we are.

if he succeeds in solving the immigration problem, renegotiating trade deals in the US working people's favor etc I promise will be ecstatic regardless of how specifically the results are achieved. And btw we don't expect a 100% success either, we are realistic and pragmatic, as long as he is trying and moving the country in the right direction, he's got our unconditional backing and support.

With a free press America has a lot of different media outlets, expressing very different view points. It is telling that Trump is going to war with "the" media collectively. If so many different view points come to the same criticism, it lends credibility that the criticism is not based on a particular bias.

Seems like Trump doesn't want his comments examined or questions asked of him by folks whose profession is to examine claims. Post-truth, seems like it will be around longer than just 2016.
