So, economic nationalism is fascism? So a gov't that is by and for the people, who looks after the ability of its people to survive, to perhaps prosper by their hard work, is fascism. You are contorting, intentionally trying to confuse such an issue. Every nation that was decent, responsible, has always looked after its own economy first and foremost. Why is this? Because the hard fact is this, it is the economy that feeds, clothes, houses the people who live under an economy. But to put your own people first, to look after them, is fascism? No one with a living brain cell, unless they have lost their mind to this silly tribalism, would ever see what you said is anything more than nonsense, and not even entertaining nonsense.


Who does economic globalization benefit, as opposed to economic nationalism? We have discovered WHO, although any damn fool would have known it before having to live under it. But who it does not benefit, and who it even can send into poverty, is the average non rich elite. The costs of maxing our profits of the top, is born by the working and middle class. Yet, if you want a return to the economic model the founders set up, which we lived under until the changes came beginning in the 1980s, where your economy is structured to feed your own people, to allow them to even prosper by their non elite kind of work, suddenly, this is fascism? LOL Nice try, but that dog won't hunt, unless of course you are too weak minded to be able to see the difference between what our founders set up, which you call fascism, and globalization which a small group of very rich elites sets up to serve themselves. And to show you just how bass ackwards your post is, the genuine fascism is oligarchy, which the Princeton Study evidenced that we were in the process of becoming, or, that we were already there, and one of the tools of this real fascism is open borders free trade globalization.

One wonders just how many brains can be taken in by you comparing economic nationalism with fascism? One should be able to see the garbage involved, the intentional attempt to FOOL the less astute, by intentionally confusing looking out for your own people, with fascism. Hell, then every nation used to be fascist before the elite scheme of economic globalization which is the scheme to bottom out wages for the work that most people do. Since every nation was not fascist in trying to have an economy that feeds the greatest number of people, this clearly shows either you do not know what you are talking about at best, and being dishonest at worse. Have such people, no shame? Do you think you can really fool people with this nonsense? You may as well be trying to call a man and wife fascists for looking after their own family FIRST. To make sure they are fed, housed, clothed, FIRST. The only way a nation does not look out for its own citizens first, is IF, a small group of elites can bribe the politicians into NOT doing that, in order that these elites can max out their income and wealth...and to hell with the non elites, the dirty rabble that labors for a living.

Something like a man who is attacked, by another person who is trying to kill him, but in self defense, kills the perp, the attacker....which using your reasoning would then be convicted of first degree murder? The liberals will first try to take away the constitutional republic, which is ruled by laws--known as the U.S. Constitution.

If they succeed then they rule by democracy, where laws are enacted by the majority. Democracy ultimately collapse when the greedy socialist gain the majority and take away all the resources from the producers and redistribute them to the non-producers.

There has never been a successful socialist state--they all eventually collapse. When the socialist state fails what follows is chaos and anarchy. There will be no rule of law. People will smash windows and burn buildings.

People will eventually realize they cannot live together without laws. The result of that realization will be widespread revolt. In an anarchy there become no choice but to seek help from those who able to consolidate power and provide order.

Finally the powerful will establish oligarchy, or some form thereof. The oligarchs will prop up a sock-puppet front man. Sock-man and and his backers will rule with an iron boot.

 

After decades of democrats separating people with identity politics, the Balkanization of America, the new counter-culture is conservatism. The young naturally rebel against the entrenched establishment and the only establishment they have known is the neo-liberal establishment.

The reason neo-liberals are so angry about 'Make America Great Again' is because it includes all Americans.

 

Because socialism only works for countries when the US pays for their defense.

In socialist countries where the US doesn't pay for their defense, it fails.

 

Depends on the part of the country you are in. Locally (Trump won big here), the protests and riots in the rest of the country are just making people more conservative. You are right that people react, but it's not always the way you see it. I know it's not always the way I see it.

The last time I read a post like the one quoted above was in 2004 after Bush jr was reelected. According to the extremist alt right pundits of the day "America is now a conservative nation" and they predicted that it would remain that way for the next century or so.

2006 burst that bubble and 2008 rammed it home that it is a fallacy to claim political dominance by either side in this nation.

Given the abysmal and chaotic start to the Incompetent-in-Chief's regime the odds of 2018 working out for the GOP are getting slimmer and slimmer by the day unless they do something to turn him from a toad into a prince. Unfortunately fairy tales don't happen in real world politics.
