There is no reason for Philip Bilden to lower himself to any association with Trump. Just like Vice Admiral Harward.

Yes.. people who run for high office have to put their holdings in a blind trust to avoid even the appearance of conflict of interest.

    Thanks, I like it myself

The odd thing here is that the most really deranged people here are the Trumpistas, they are denying reality. They take a minority win on a technicality and somehow turn it into a sea change in the American populace. The only real 'movement' that I can see Trump referring to is the one that fills his gold plated toilet every night, yet he and his followers assume that everyone loves them and is 110% approving of everything they do without question.

And in the meantime he can't even get people to work for him

Unless, of course, they are the God-Emperor who is incapable of deception and still magnanimously gave his holdings to the Crown Prince, who is going off to hunt lions in Darkest Africa and will therefore have no communications of any kind with his Illustrious Father

Obama had plenty of turndowns too, not everyone jumps at the prospect of entering the political arena dog fight. I know I wouldn't.

Well, you didn't think Trump was giving the Republicans any chance in 2016. Lol

PS Trump has gained votes since the election, lots of votes.

Oh, don't ask people to actually read the article and take the time to become informed. Clearly that's an absurd expectation.

Exactly right. And actually, since the conflict stipulations are actually more stringent for the Secretary positions than they are for the President and Vice President, either he'd have to divest, turn down the position, or fill the position in violation of the conflicts statutes. So which of these options makes most sense in this case?

Yes. Exactly. But it's a lot more fun to say that the man doesn't want to serve under Trump, than to say that the man doesn't want to have to take a financial hit to serve.

Once again, asking people to actually read the information they're given is completely uncalled for. They're much better at arguing in favor of their perception of reality, rather than having to deal with reality as it exists for the rest of us...

They don't work for Trump, they work for the country.
Trump may be picking people that are not right for the job, so Trump could be scrutinized on that. If they are refusing to work as part of their career because Trump holds office, that's just a shame.

but then again perhaps previous candidates have courted the previous presidents (i.e. looking to further their career potentially with favors), rather than presidents looking for the right people.
