I can't say that I voted for him. I didn't.

I can't say that I approved of his leadership. I didn't.

I can't really say all that much about his presidency that I admired. I didn't.

I can say that he's earned my begrudged respect by acknowledging that a free press means a free democracy.

The problem with media is that they have more control over people that the people would care to admit.
I don't have any problem with changing up the usual media names to be invited into whitehouse briefings. Who says the big boys get to hold season passes automatically?

By free press they mean to accept everything that the corporate propaganda outlets of the global corporations and elite super rich tell you without question or criticism - and do not listen to what anyone else including any other news source says.You must think and not think, say and not say, support and oppose, and vote exactly at they tell you to. Failure to totally submit exclusive to their control means you oppose a "free press."

The issue is not whether the press is unbiased, as media from all sides promote their agenda freely, even when it's as sick the the agenda of the deplorables and their great orange hope. But they are free to present a full range of opinions and even limit the sort of facts that they report.
That's why intelligent people get their information from a wide variety of international sources.
The issue is that we will not allow trump to destroy the first amendment so that he can hide his failures from public scrutiny.
If the trump tries to throttle the media, there will be blood in the streets. Count on it.

Should we allow "fake news" to be pushed to the people, so they don't know the truth about what is going on?
No.
Therefore we should stop the flow of "fake news".

Bush did not criticize Obama in his 8 years although he gave him a little jab in that interview.
