Nope. I am on methotrexate and love it.

The docs get creeped about it and US docs are scared of it because of lawsuits in the past, but you wouldn't know I have it unless you looked in my ears.

The problem with Methotrexate is it plays havoc with the liver and alcoholics who take it can end up dead. However I have been clean and sober 26 years and my last visit to a liver specialist [routine] indicated that on a scale of 6 to 70 with 70 being near death, I am 6.4. He wants to see me again in five years.

It's kinda slow and is suspenseful,but not nearly as gripping as the
critics claimed.Peter Lorre was a virtual unknown when Lang chose him to
play the psychopathic child murderer.Lorre,a former bank clerk spent 7 years
on stage in Switzerland and Austria { where he received stage training }.
He debut was in Zurich.
When the Nazis came to power in1933,Lorre was able to exile himself to
Paris,then London,then finally,in1935,to Hollywood.
Many Germans tried to wait out Hiitler's reign of Nazism.
By around 1936 it was nearly impossible to Leave Germany w/o
paying a huge amount for the permission to leave.

How about a Hairy Buffalo.That is what College Frats have on special
occasion.Get a big trash can { new } and fill it with Ice and then dump
in Kool aid and fruit juice and stuff like fifths of Vodka,Rum .
Then other knuckleheaded drunks add what they feel is kool.

 

Man Hunt is an excellent movie. The movie I am talking about has Walter Pidgeon. Joan Bennett, George Sanders and John Carradine in it. Great movie.

Im also on methotrexate (15 mg/week), but get bloodwork every 3 mos. I've always tolerated it well, but you're right. No heavy drinking. I have a glass of wine or two about once a month, but skip the med that week. Just heard it comes in injection form now, bypassing your digestive system. Asked the nurse about it and she's gonna check to see if my insurance will cover it. Dr appt next month, we'll see.

BTW, do you know mx is one of the world's 10 most important drugs? Powerful sh*t, for sure.

Not sure about methotrexate but many of these medications are bad for your liver.

 

Been there, done that, darlin. This aint my first rodeo, medically speaking.

 

Many people cant tolerate it, so they monitor your blood closely. I take one pill a week and its very effective. The possible liver damage is why you can't drink alcohol.. double whammy!

 

I hear ya....Here in CA we have medical marijuana...A lot of folks use it here for pain but I'm not sure about the effects on the liver. The old folks do seem rather happy though....
