Allow me to clarify. You are correct. The courts job is to interpret the law as it is written. Many on the right, including Gorsuch, see the law written as corporations are equivalent to people and therefor should receive the same constitutional rights. Liberal justices interpret the constitution so that mega-corps are not people, but what they are mega-corps created to evade taxes. Therefor, I don't have a lack of basic civics, but a larger comprehension of how the law is interpreted. You are right, however, that the easiest solution would be for congress to pass a law saying that corporations are not people. There is no current law stating that, and so the court must read between the lines.

 

So, what's your point? Obama was president until the end of his term, right? Just because you're the president doesn't mean you automatically get your way, does it? And, if the voters were so upset about Obama's pic not getting on the court they could have voted that way. Sorry if that reality escapes you.

I don't understand why the right is SOO PETRIFIED of other people who are not like them. It baffles me. You hate people you don't know because you think they may take your job. You hate Muslims because a few members of the religion are radicals. Should I hate Christianity because some crazy white wack job goes out and kills a bunch of people, or should I judge every Christian I meet by their own merits? Every Muslim friend I have respects our culture, and loves America more than you do. They know what real persecution is. Try and spend a day in their shoes. Also who is this woman, what qualifications does she have?

Waiting a week for what is the real question no ones addressing. Why a week? If Schumer had his troops aligned for a filibuster, why not just do it and get it over with? Maybe he needs a week to proof read the media narrative OR maybe he's expecting some other shoe to drop that he thinks will put a nail in Trumps presidency. Hell, at this point it hard to say. Hard to predict with these folks, but there always seems to be something they're scheming behind closed doors to keep the country guessing & unstable.
