Indonesia it's not a federal country but unfortunately the province called Aceh did adopt Sharia law But outside Aceh these things don't happen
Unfortunately, it break the argument that djihadism, salafism and muslim extremism is just an arabic thing. I heard a lot of people saying "yeah but in Asia their is a lot of muslims without any problems", Aceh is a perfect counter example.
Unfortunately those fanatics are everywhere but for what concerns Indonesia outside Aceh if you don't respect Islamic law you don't have any problem. For example my family and I are Buddhist and we don't have problems living here in Jakarta
