I can certainly verify you know CA. There is some pretty country east of Redding. Matter of fact, we have so much pretty country one can spend many years seeing it and keeping busy. I love the Shasta region as well. The only part of Ca I have not fully explored is far north in the east. I have sold property at Susanville. I put the deal together for the man and his wife where he bought 11 acres of perfect land with a very nice custom home. He even got the snow plow with Jeep as part of the deal. He loved fishing at Eagle Lake. He was a few miles out of Susanville so he had a very nice forest on his land. I flew him there to make the sale. I truly enjoyed McArthur-Burney Falls park as well. I have only been to Shingle Springs one time, passing through. Prior to him retiring, a pal of mine was the Sheriff there. We had worked at GM together on the assembly line.

How can I describe the two sides of the sierra Nevada mountains so people got it. Granite and very high mountains, zillions of trees of a number of types. Evergreens all over. East it was more like Desert land. Even that is very nice. Mammoth Lakes is very nice. Winter there can be tough. I know a lot more about CA north of Los Angeles than the LA communities. Too many communities there to say one knows. I enjoy San Diego quite a bit too.

A wonderful example of this is Trump's last decree against the reduction of greenhouse gases and the promotion of coal.

Yes, mining has had massive job cuts and yes, the people and whole regions have become an armed house. Yes, the reduction of CO2 emissions does not promote new jobs in mining!
And yes ... probably there are now it trumps new decree new jobs in mining!

But, instead of tackling mistakes of the last 30 years of Washington politics and actually repairing them, Trump only overpins the problems with this decree and creates new trenches. Sure, the miners are celebrating Trump, but how many people are not enthusiastic about it? I know those who are not celebrating this, of course, all evil left liberal Democrats, clear what else they can be!

    The fact is:
Currently, foreign coal from China and Australia and other countries is often much cheaper. Does Trump address this problem? So far no clear statement that he is now punitive or whatever on the foreign coal makes!
At the moment, thanks to Fracking, natural gas is much cheaper in the US as a fuel for the power plants ... does it address the problem, and if so, how?
If Trump does not solve these two things too, the miners produce at best stockpiles of coal, which no one wants and buys!

And yes ... uncomfortable facts and unfortunately can not be avoided with the usual insults against left liberal!

    Robert...looks like you can't keep a secret,

If liberals were to find out what lied east of the coast they would be buying homes and acreages and subdividing the acreage. And where ever liberals go... illegal aliens follow to do the work that liberals refuse to do like mowing the lawn, plowing the snow and raising their children.

Beautiful country in Nor-Cal, sportsman's paradise (hunting and fishing) That might be why liberals are scared of venturing away from the coast ?

Not to ignore southern California where you can be ripping up the waves surfing in the morning and by noon time skiing down the slopes in an Alpine mountain.

The deserts of So-Cal, the Mojave and the Sonora/Colorado Deserts. My hippie liberal friends relate to the desert as a religious experience while I experience the desert as those who crossed over the desert or settling in the desert having the American pioneer spirit that made America great.

The Democrats will never allow this -- it will cost them too many electoral votes and weaken their chances at gaining control of the Senate.

Not only that, but Nigel Farage is working in cahoots with Putin. He is living in Russia.

This is what Putin is doing around the world, -dividing, pitting parts of countries against each other, and thereby weakening. The blind folks fail to see this and are being duped.

Let's see Disneyland ,west, most of the agriculture/water , east. Now, would people decide between carnie rides or dinner on the table, according to the new borders.
Better question who has most of the water?

The GOP has become masterful at the art of Gerrymandering, allowing them to control congress while garnering far less votes in the actual elections. Now they want to start Gerrymandering states to garner more Senate seats while again getting less votes. This sleazy tactic should be looked into and put to an end. The notion of an East/West California is another sleazy disgusting scheme hatched by people who are trying to circumvent our Republic...

And only a few hours from Vegas.

Home of the Mojave rattlesnake...the deadliest snake in America.

So how's snake season this year ? Are the rattlers out and about slithering around ?

And you do realize this is divided by the fault line and you have given the beaches to them after you slide into the glowbally warmed sea full of wandering polar bears and radiation filled sea lions.

I've lived here for 8 years, hike a lot and haven't seen one yet, but I have heard rumors. I love it up here. Lot's of coyotes and bobcats. Million stars in the sky every night. Golf course that hosts US Open qualifiers every other year and US Senior Open and US Amateur regionals this year. Ski resort 20 minutes away. An little over an hour to Ventura or Malibu. My property taxes are $1100 a year for a landscaped acre with 2100 sq foot house. That's why I laugh when I see posts from people who live in places like Indiana, Texas and other places with crappy weather, nosy intrusive police forces and bible thumping busy bodies abound harping about what a hell hole this great state is. There is still tons of beautiful land up here for sale at reasonable prices with breathtaking views, Joshua trees and Junipers and clean fresh air.

Yeah, I understand that. I'm just asking why they think it's such a bad idea since they brought it up. I agreed it was a good idea from the start. (I already know the answers to all these questions, but I want to hear what they say.)

    Sure thing.

Of course, we also need statehood for DC and Puerto Rico.

And we also need to split up Texas, to make a blue state part of it.

Oh, also split CA into coast north and coast south. The population and economy justify it.

If the OP is consistent, he'll be fine with all that. If he's totally a shameless party hack, he won't.

Yeah, I have been hearing that since I moved out here in '64...The point of this thread is another attempt by right wingers to gerrymander their way into circumventing the popular vote even more. They have rigged the congressional votes by sleazy tactics in drawing up ridiculous lines so that they can control congress while losing the popular vote. Now they are suggesting measures to do the same thing to the Senate and in Presidential elections. East California, my ass....We here have the greatest state in the union, in fact if California were a country it would be among the nicest and richest in the world. If it was up to me, I would be glad to be cut loose from all of the red state mooches and the crooked politicians and judges that control the rest of this country.

No, but this East/West California deal is being cooked up by so called CONservatives in order to create another scheme to circumvent the popular vote and control the government while receiving less votes. The only reason the GOP controls the House Of Represetatives is that they have gerrymandered several states in order to win more congressional seats while receiving less votes. It is a disgraceful practice which should be stopped immediately.

There is no "popular vote". It's a meaningless statistic.
