Blacks represent 13% of the US population yet commit 53% of all homicides.
It takes a very special kind of dishonesty to believe any of this has anything to do with gun control.

Just goes to show how worthless gun laws are in high crime areas with Blacks. The thugs in the St. Louis area couldn't care less about criminal and gun laws in Missouri, anymore than the thugs in Chicago care about the laws there.

Both cities have pathetic arrest and conviction rates.

Dishonest gun control fanatics, MUST use state data to confuse the issue on violent crime. They are like witches stirring the pot for their hocus pocus.

And as we all know those guns tend to come from southern states with very lax gun laws. They are NOT coming from within NY. This is why we need national gun control

The state that's the largest source of traced gun in New York is ... New York.

Do you know how many firearms manufacturers are based in New York state? If those guns had not been legally purchased and registered in New York, the ATF could not have traced them back to New York.

You're going to love this one. Guess which state, after Maryland itself, provides the second largest number of firearms traced by ATF from Maryland? It's that bastion of "common sense", New York, providing more firearms than those lax gun law states Georgia, the Carolinas, Florida, Ohio or Alabama. Why don't the strict laws in New York prevent guns from getting to Maryland? Interestingly, the strict gun laws in Maryland don't prevent that state from providing over half of the guns traced by ATF.

Never mind that every New Yorker that buys a gun outside NY and brings it into NY without going thru an FFL commits a federal felony when doing so.

    Actually, it's worse than that.

Black males aged 14-30 represent only about 3% of the population.

Yet, that small group is responsible for more than 50% of the murder in this country.

Their murder rate per 100k is in the 90's. That's Honduran level murder rates.

Actually, it's better than that. 3% of the population is about 10 million people, yet only about 5000 of those ten million people commit murder each year.

Those are among the 52,915 guns used in crimes that law enforcement in New York State recovered from 2010 to 2015. Of those guns seized, 46,514 could be traced to their purchase site and three-quarters of those firearms were originally bought outside New York, according to a report to be released on Tuesday by the state attorney general’s office.

Almost 90 percent of the handguns that were recovered largely came from six states along Interstate 95, according to the report, called “Target on Trafficking, New York Crime Gun Analysis.” The six states are Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia

I don't have an agenda to make black people look bad, I'm simply looking at the facts.

My point is that the majority of our violence comes from a small group of extremely violent people.

I'm going to say it's a lot more than "5000" people, because a lot of those that commit murder are getting locked up....yet the culture of violence persists to the next 14 year old gang member year after year.

The only way to end violence is to understand who, and why, people are running around murdering each other.

Taking guns away from murderers (which doesn't work anyway), still leaves a murderer out there on the streets.

Wow. Pre-emptively accusing gun advocates of racism? Telekenetic micro-agressions? I'll just point out, that those stats the OP provides,if accurate, kinda indicate black people are "getting rid" of each other. No need for gun advocates to involve themselves in that endeavor.

More like a long history on this forum. If the answer is "just lock up all the black people" then you have no answer.

I'm going to guess it's a lot closer to 5k than to 10 million.

I think the answer is a simple one. Forget restricting lawful gun ownership, and instead pass a federal law. One that states if you use a gun to commit a crime, you get a life sentence. Other countries have these laws. Gun violence is reduced dramatically.

No problem....as long as you double your taxes to pay for all the prisons you will need.

So, your solution is to do nothing ?
We already have similar Laws, do you object to putting Violent offenders in Prison simply because it is expensive ?

Yet you insist on more Gun Control even though such does not = effective Crime prevention ?

Black people are being victimized by other black people.
Where offender/victim data could be found, of the 2664 blacks murdered in 2015, 2380 were murdered by black people. It's a problem in the community, not one of guns. In terms of Missouri, my guess is that due to the aftermath of Michael Brown, the police aren't policing black communties as well, in fear of causing another riot. You brought race into this.......

Bernie Sanders' home state of Vermont has the weakest gun control laws in the nation - as in practically none at all. In fact, Vermont gets an "F" from the Brady Center and an "A+" from Guns&Ammo magazine. They also have the lowest crime rate... and the lowest homicide rate... BY FAR.

So the safest state in the nation has the loosest gun laws. Hmh? There must be some other factor... I'll leave it up to you to determine what that is. Needless to say, I'm guessing you won't like the answer... if you are honest about it, anyway.

Certainly they will need to be increased. I have no proof the number is double....there is clear evidence that this will cost a LOT of money
We should continue to put violent offenders in prison. But the laws that are typical of other first world countries concerning guns work. It is that simple

Explain why Vermont gets an "F" from the Brady Campaign and an "A+" from Guns&Ammo (meaning it has very unrestrictive gun laws) yet has the lowest overall crime rate in the nation, and also the lowest homicide rate. Add to this the fact that the majority of those black homicide victims are killed by... wait for it... people who look a lot like them.

Would you like to round up all the black people to get rid of this problem?

You state you have no proof that taxes would have to double so we can enforce existing laws. However on multiple occasions you state that taxes would double. I trust you will no longer make this unverified claim.
