    Did you see that ?

President Trump just signed off on killing your Internet privacy protections :

    http://money.cnn.com/2017/04/03/technology/internet-privacy-law-trump/

The solution : Start using strong cryptographic tools. And do not use any US Internet services to store data.

And did you see that also ?

    http://www.lemonde.fr/elections-ame...-francaise-aux-etats-unis_4973975_829254.html

The solution : Do not go to the US for holidays. US’s president is crazy and he hates us. So do not waste your money in the US until US citizens put their president into a big trash.

    Regards

Yes, you read well. You know, Trump is a « rump » (the ass, specifically the buttocks), as far as we see him. So, consider this subject as a Freudian slip. It comes from the collective unconscious (you know, Jung ?).

That said, my company just cancelled a trip to the US. This trip was planned by our « CE » (that is, the work council, in English). We just don’t want to be bothered by a dumb policy. We are planning to go to Mexico instead.

Do not take it bad. We have nothing against US citizens. However, we just don’t want to help Trump by giving him money (directly or not).

By the way, do you realise what the « rump » did to your privacy ? Did you realise that your Internet service provider is now authorised to sail private data collected from your activity on the net ? Do you consider this acceptable ? Or do you just don’t understand what it means ? As an IT engineer that works for the telecom industry for 20 years, I know what it means. And my colleagues know also. That’s why we are very concerned about letting private US companies to keep data about European citizens. There are some technical solutions to screw up Internet US companies’ data business. I won’t explain them here… this is not the place. However, some are seriously thinking about making these techniques accessible for the masses (because, right now, you have to be an engineer or a geek to understand how to use them). And you know what name will we give to this « data jammer toolkit » ? I tell you : « the Trump toolkit ». Because Trump is the man that triggers the development of this toolkit.

    Regards,

    Denis

    I completely understand.
I compare it to Israel. I support Israel having a right to exist, but I am opposed to the current leader, NuttyYahoo, who does not want peace and is a war-monger.

Do not forget we had another bad president - Bush - not as bad as Trump, just stupid - but Bush and his supporters spoke badly of France because France didn't think the war in Iraq was needed and didn't want to join in the war.

Boy, I'll bet you Frenchmen are sorry you missed out on all that fun in Iraq, right?

There has not been internet privacy here thanks to the NSA. So you cannot lose what you don't have. Our NSA collects and stores your internet use and phone use too, so NSA took your privacy away too. Welcome to post 1984. Thank you Bush Jr and Obama.

Have fun in Mexico we will mourn your loss. How is your election looking? You may want to seek permanent residence in Acapulco.

    Hello Jetsayin,

I notice that you are a victim of the « strategy of fear ».

You know, I go to Mexico for my work every year. What about you ? Do you do there ? I speak Spanish fluently.

Well, Mexico is just like in the US (I lived 5 years in the US). In the US, there are areas where you should not go. Don’t go there, and you will be OK. Please note that there are such areas in France too (and England, and China…). If you are looking for a very safe place, I suggest you go to Switzerland : when people have money and good education, things are good.

    Regards,

    Denis

    Hello Jestsayin,

Just coming back to tell you that we’ve come back from Mexico, and, well, everything is all right.

It was pretty amazing to see the patriotism of Mexican guys. They have an enemy in common : the duck of the white house. From this point of view, Trump is doing the right thing : by turning himself into the enemy of everybody, it makes everybody friends.

    Atentamente,

    Denis

Yes indeed, it’s cool. And we can tell you that : there will be no wall. Mexico will not pay. If you don’t believe me, then go there and see for yourself. This will be a tremendous punch into Donald’s face. That’s just what Mexicans want. And that, contrary to Donald’s plans, will happen. Donald’s plans, or maybe we should say, US plans, will just fail. Are you sure you still want this megalomaniac as president ?

If this was aimed at me, I didn't vote for Trump, I didn't vote for Hillary, I don't care about Mexico, or France for that matter, & I'd love to see a wall, but if it doesn't happen, no skin off my arse.

    Ciao for now.

I don't know about the encryption thing, but I think you can do a lot to avoid being tracked just by blocking certain domains via browser add-ons or router settings, and you can set up DNS to something outside of your ISP, so that they can't monitor your browsing habits that way.

Not that this information is generally used for anything more nefarious than Big Data companies buying and selling the data for the sake of targeting advertising. Outside of that, no one out there has any particular interest in your browsing habits or data. Government won't care if you're not up to something, though I imagine they will take more of an interest in people who start encrypting everything...

Far be it for me to support him after the way he fooled me, but he simply wants to keep out of America foreign criminals and dangerous religious wackos, so WTF's wrong with that? It's precisely what our governments (yours and mine) should have done.

    Hello Cerberus,

I have no idea how to keep the « bad guys » away. However, I don’t think that the problems we have (you and me) right now are due to immigration. Immigration is just a symptom. And you don’t treat a disease by shutting down the symptom. However, that’s what Trump (or Le Pen) says… And most people just believe it, because it is simple.

Therefore, building a wall to shut down the symptom « immigration » is just a waste of money. Other symptoms will pop up… Maybe, one day, US citizens will not be able to quit US territory, because the rest of the world will hate US. Or maybe the tourism in the US will die because nobody will want to go in the US for holidays… who knows.

    Regards,

    Denis

    I agree with you.

For your own safety and security, no non Americans should come to the United States. Please stay away. It's for your own good. It's the only way to be sure.

Ah yes, that stupid carry-over from the Iraq fiasco.
Boy, we sure showed France, didn't we?
France chose not to partake of the Iraq invasion - I am sure they will forever regret missing out on all that fun.
