    Russia Says It Won't Shoot Down Any U.S. Missiles Launched at Syrian Government

    The head of the Russian Federation Council’s Defense and Security Committee says Russian armed forces based in Syria will not attempt to intercept any American missiles, if Washington orders another airstrike.

    On Monday, Russian Senator Viktor Ozerov told the news agency Interfax, “Our armed forces are in Syria to fight terrorism — not to defend against external threats. That’s not our mandate, and we’re not going to intercept anything,” he said, adding that the Syrian military still has every legal right to try to shoot down the missiles.

    Aha, now we get some clarity into this mess: Russia doesn't care what the US does in Syria. I find that a bit strange, though. Two Super powers are bent over a carcass - the one Power wants to save the carcass, the other one wants to eat it!!!!

    I think an answer is clear. Russia won't shoot down any U.S. missiles. But Russia will supply C-400 to Syria. And Syria will shoot down U.S. missiles. I think something like this already happened. Only 23 Tomahawks from 59 reached a Syrian air-base. 59-23=36. Do you know what is 36? It's a maximum number of targets for one volley of C-400.

    I rather miss not knowing at a glance what nationality other posters are (by the various flags at the top right-hand corner of the old board?), because it can be useful when engaging with them.
