I am sorry for your future self when it slams into the cold, hard wall of reality.
Do you believe that a border wall (a) is the only solution to the above problems and (b) is even a potential solution to the above problems? If the 20th century taught us anything it's that walls are only solutions for people with very small minds, which in Trump's case is perfectly fitting. I believe most of the people who voted for him are smarter, though, and coming around to the realization of what a twit this guy is.
We aren't talking about a law we're talking about a ****ing budget. If you sincerely believe "the less government, the better" then why in the world do you support a wall? That's probably the most tyrannical thing a government can do to its people. Just ask former East Germans.

This is a no-brainer. It also highlights what Trump is really about. He's about boosting profits for big corporations while fooling shmucks into thinking he's going to create jobs. Big corporations don't want to hire lazy, entitled Americans with no work ethic. Trump doesn't want to make them do that, either. He knows building a wall will not stop the influx of cheap labor. The only jobs he's trying to create are the jobs building this ******n wall. It's Frank Underwoods' "America Works" program right from House of Cards.

Are you saying you want Trump to implement yet another Clinton/Obama idea? Isn't he sick of pushing forward with their ideas rather than his own?

People walking where they're not supposed to is a 6 million year old problem ....
Walls have been very effective so far, so what is it about 21st century pedestrians that has changed the efficacy of bricks and mortar?

Wow you just consume whatever bullcrap they feed you, don't you? Democrats can't shut the government down, they don't have the votes, lol. You don't think the problem has something to do with President Tweet's request for $22B for his pet project? Or the Republicans in Texas who realize what an asinine idea this is? No? I guess for some sheeple it's whatever their Dear Leader says tweets.

yes, it also directly addresses the main complaint re illegals : "they took out jobs". The wall should nonetheless be considered if this still fails to stem the tide....

The most important thing is "build the wall". Paying for it should be part of Homeland Security's budget.
    Agree.

Wrong, Congress (actually meaning the taxpayers) was suppose to pay for the wall when Congress ordered the wall to be built back in 2006. The same wall that Donald Trump pointed out to "Crooked" Hillary that she voted for.

HOLLY CRAP !!! Even Sen. Chuck Schumer voted for the wall.

    H.R. 6061 (109th): Secure Fence Act of 2006
This was a vote to pass H.R. 6061 (109th) in the Senate.

On October 26, 2006, U.S. President George W. Bush signed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 (Pub.L. 109–367) into law stating, “This bill will help protect the American people. This bill will make our borders more secure. It is an important step toward immigration reform."

The bill was introduced on Sep. 13, 2006 by Peter T. King (R-NY). In the House of Representatives, the Fence Act passed 283–138 on September 14, 2006. On September 29, 2006 – the Fence Act passed in the Senate 80–19...

Funny thing about that. I haven't heard Trump blame Democrats for not funding the wall. If anything, I would say, he is not pleased with Ryan and the Republicans. Remember,Trump is not an ideologue. This man is being sabotaged by his own party's RINO's. If anything; I think Trump has exposed how many Republicans are in the pockets of the Business Roundtable and Chamber of Commerce. They have put there selfish interest ahead of the security of our country. Traitorous bastards all.

I first thought that no, the GOP wouldn't be stupid enough to shut down the government because it went badly for them the last time, and then I said, "Wait! It's The GOP! They ARE that stupid!

Just like the umpteen times they wasted energy voting to repeal ObamaCare, they do the same thing over and over, and expect different results.
That, folks, is the definition of insanity.

The Russians built a wall to keep the Germans inside from escaping. We will save millions by building a wall. Lower incarceration costs, lower medical costs, lower education costs, lower drug treatment for addiction costs, lower welfare costs, etc.

Latest Washington Post - ABC News poll shows if a new election was held today Trump would beat Clinton 43% to 40%.

Baloney. We know Trump will find a way eventually. In the meantime, we expect anything necessary to build that wall to be facilitated.

A physical barrier is needed unless you want our entire military to be patrolling down there.

According to recent reports Trump has backed away from the wall funding and will delay it until September. Of course, this is likely to change again within the next 48 hr period.

It'll be too hot down there for heavy labor soon anyway.

Drones cannot be a first line of defense--they are too expensive and they have no human judgment.

As a practical matter how is an employer supposed to know if a prospective employee is an illegal alien?

Did you bother to actually read the bill?
    1. It is for a fence, not a wall.
    2. It doesn't cover the entire border.

You do bring up a good point: why are the Republicans so concerned about pleasing the Democrats? The R's have majorities and the White House, just ram it all through. But the R leadership are "progressive-lite", and will do what they can to keep the train heading towards the cliff.

And also, what is a drone actually going to do? It sees someone crossing and then it... what? shoots them?

That doesn't sound like a better strategy
