You left out being the most hospital state, but then you certainly couldn't claim that could you. BTW we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with water actually warm enough to swim in without a wetsuit, mountain spelndor, great weather, the best moonshine, I won't comment on illegal substances, and wonderful Southern women, the most beautiful in the world, don't want to live in an LA, or San Francisco or San Diego and we have great resorts up and down the coast. I've seen the developement of this great state and our neighbors along the coast for the last 60 years and it gets better all the time. It is also a place of fantastic opportunity but I won't judge other people, it's not polite and our mothers here teach us to be polite.

And you are welcome to come and enjoy our hospitality as long as it is not on your state government money since the would not allow you to do so it seems.

United we stand, divided we fall..............

If you read the exemptions, it sounds like they are picking and choosing; either way I believe it is illegal and cannot be enforced. I wonder if it will be eventually challenged in the courts?

I have many friends and bussiness associates from all over the world who are now Angelinos and Californians. The food is also great, especially the Mediterranean foods that have been introduced by middle easterners. When I first moved here in '64 it was a pretty white bread boring place. The influx of immigrants from Asia, the Middle East and Mexico have made it more exciting and cosmopolitan. In the '90s I moved to Colorado Springs for three years. I could not wait to get away from the gun toting, Bible thumping crackers who bored me to tears and get back to the real world.

I appreciate the fact that you love your home. I used to work with a guy, a car wholesaler, who had a deep southern accent and always said he was from LA...Lower Alabama...Great guy, Chuck Ward. I haven't spent much time down there but the times I have been there, people were great and very friendly. Nice golf courses. Ken Stabler and Jimmy Buffet are from there....Lynard Skynard...I would not ever try to tell you that your state is a right wing hell hole like some of these ignorant a$$holes do about my home state. I do not wait for any governmental officials to tell me where to travel. One of the kids I coached in baseball here when he was 8-12, Greg McElroy, ended up being the QB of the mighty Crimson Tide and won a couple NCAA championships..

I grew up in Fort Lee, NJ, that's where Bridgegate took place. When I lived there the town was mostly Italians and Jews. That changed. My family tells me wealthy Russian and Korean immigrants have moved there in large numbers. They tell me that each of those groups stays confined among themselves, probably because of language and culture, which creates the sense that they're not in the town they grew up in. Making matters worse is the history of the town is being erased, large victorian houses are being demolished so duplexes can be built, and if enough property can be acquired, then a high rise goes up. And the real bad thing is all the good Italian joints are disappearing.

Since I mentioned Koreans, my family said they are the absolute worst drivers on the face of the Earth.

That's going a little overboard. I'm not talking about on the beach. Just a nice place in the country, but 5-10 minutes from shopping and restaurants.

You are asking a policy question, and its a good one. You make a good case against it.

I know Fort Lee very well. It's close proximity to Manhattan has made it a very desirable place and it is quite expensive too. Land values are a big factor in the development from single family homes into multiplexes. Same in Hoboken and Jersey City...There are still some great old neighborhoods with old houses close by in Engelwood, Teaneck, Hackensack, and still plenty of great old Italian joints too.

My gut feel is employers have the right to restrict what employees do. Even though I don't agree.
Employees are free to find other employment if they don't like the company, in this case State, policy.
But I'd prefer to let employees be who they are as long as they aren't doing anything illegal.

Englewood has some really nice homes, but there's also a bad section of town. I haven't heard much about Hackensack since I left, same with Teaneck. Hoboken and Jersey City were not the places you wanted to call home when I lived there, but I'm told they went through big changes and now both areas are upscale and expensive.

To get back on topic. I don't think it's in anybody's best interest to start a civil war, militarily or financially. It's fun to poke at other states and competition for industry and jobs is fair game, but sanctions against other states isn't wise. We are supposed to be UNITED.

The peculiar chair arrangement has me wondering ... you've cut cable TV out of your life and in need of a replacement ... are the chickens that entertaining? Or did you put the TV in with the chickens? I'm perplexed.

    Cheers

California is a two option state.

Work your ass off until you die or claim disability and bleed the productive until they die :)

My inlaws are in their upper 80s and part of the reason I built the coop and got chickens was for their entertainment. They both suffer from dementia and live with us. There is a clock radio in the rafters and lots of shade. They both grew up with chickens and they like to feed them.

Fine, then lets disband the country. You should be all for this. Let's declare America dead and each State can go its own way.
