Do we need NATO occupation of Europe now to stop a German commanded army happening in Europe who doesn't listen to Britain or the US? I think the importance of NATO is needed against this rise on the continent that's less than friendly.
& http://www.politicalforum.com/index...us-britain-no-longer-reliable-partners.505928 Don't begin to go weak on the Germans, they're just as dangerous to our peace.
How does Germany threaten the US? Since they have money? Let Merkel build her army. More spending for them means less for us. The fact we have US forces in Germany is a blessing to make our operations in the Middle much easier, whether you agree with EU politics or not.
The EU is an economic system that wishes to surpass the US Market by trying to get Germany to be number 1 in Europe and number 1 in the world.
So? Maybe because they have a highly educated force and is not afraid of competition? You want to use military force just because someone is making money? And no, the Germans don't have the agriculture, the manufacturing landmass, the natural resources to be No 1 in the world. A strong German economy is not a threat to US. They don't have much of a military, because they don't need it.
Russia is not a threat, NATO is not needed any more. The EU aims to be the next threat. Let them become so, before we formally ally against them.
The Euro countries all have their own policies, they're still sovereign states who co-operate vis the NATO umbrella but still have their own national policies, diplomatic and military, NATO isn't a dictatorship arrangement, and this was so even at the height of the Cold War; both Great Britain and France had their own nuclear policies, both more aggressive than the U.S.'s. The U.S. policy was to avoid nuclear first strike and then as a tactical strike at the Warsaw base , while Britain's policy was to strike if they were in danger of being wiped out, and of course France announced they would launch their nukes at the first sign of invasion and not wait on anybody. Doubtful the U.S. could maintain its policy in the face of its allies policies, but that was the way it was; the nonsense about the U.S.unilaterally ordering everybody else around like a king and everybody falling into lockstep behind them is silly hogwash, always was and still is.
