I found the perfect cure for those whose feelies get all hurted by online abuse. Stay well clear of them Interwebz.
Of course they got banned. All they did was personally attack people when Hillary lost. It was a troll fest that night. Then all the other libs that swore up and down Hillary would win by a landslide have taken a sabbatical.
Not feelz. Some far Left Liberals are rational and calculating tyrants. Communist leaders were very successful. Of course some far Right people are as intolerant. I agree with Moderate Left on some issues like Welfare State. I agree with Moderate Right on some other issues like Free Speech.
I do not know. Many insults used in unmoderated forums dehumanize those subject to them. I usually answer in kind. Many of Internet users are no longer Homo Sapiens -- they have devolved into Homo Interneticus.
Not feelings -- Homo Interneticus may lose decency and tact which Homo Sapiens had. I am already Homo Interneticus.
To be honest, I'm Old School. I prefer honest human reactions/actions (Words) on boards. Too many rules bore things. If a person can't take some guff, GTFOff the Interwebz.
Words are still just words. They can only hurt if you let them. Decidedly difference than physical violence which can hurt or kill you no matter what you do.
Baloney. A while ago, I was called a "li.bta.rd" by a right winger here and retaliated by calling him a "reic.ht.ard". Guess whose post was censored and got a warning for violating forum rules. You guessed it - me. At that time I was told that "li.bta.rd" is not an insult while "re.ich.ta.rd" is. I personally know of two people who quit the forum because of its double standards. And these were good posters, too. Sadly, even more who were not personal friends quit for the same reason they did. This lessens the quality of the exchange of ideas and slants the forum further to the far right. While I am glad to see that the mods are taking a slightly more even hand in enforcing the stated forum rules, much more needs to be done. An even hand in such enforcement, rather than the selective enforcement which so often characterizes the work done by the mods, would make the exchange more even and far better. Let me state for the record that this is a good forum. I do enjoy being here as I'm sure you do. But it can be better.
So someone called you a name that makes fun of your political status, and you resort to call them a name that accuses them of being a Nazi...and you're whining?
Did you report his post? My guess is he reported yours. The whole thing is using the system. Don't insult back, report the insult.
Meh, snitches get stitches. If you can't take the heat, leave the kitchen. Nobody respects a snowflake.
I found this place after the forum I'd used for years got shut down. Election night. Didn't get a chance to bring the wrath of Zeus and spike the football . I did catch up and read some of the archives here leading up to the election. I've noticed many of the Delusional Party are MIA, did the DNC cut off paid troll funding the night of the election?
Interesting. I guess there isn't such a crime as "cyber stalking". I guess there isn't such a crime as encouraging suicide of the troubled. I guess its not a crime to post nude pictures of people to a public forum without their consent. I guess its not a crime to post (distribute) child pornography. These are merely digital analogs of real world crimes and should be subject to legal constraints. OTOH, insulting somebody is not a crime. Being hateful towards a particular group (if not promoting violence against them) is not a crime. Being an ******** is not a crime. Funny how on this topic it seems to bring out the partisan rabble to spew their distorted misperceptions of the actual situation in order to condemn the "other side". Lucky for all of us that isn't actually a cybercrime.
I did - that is why I got the reply which said that my post was insulting while his was not. Double standards, much?? Case in point: "Meh, snitches get stitches. If you can't take the heat, leave the kitchen. Nobody respects a snowflake."
I've been called worse. But the double standards continue albeit to a lesser extent than before. All the while the right wingers continue to cry and babble to no end.
