It is obvious that Karl Marx was not born when this nation was formed in 1789, so what is your point? I know what my point is, the point being that there was no such thing as taxation on wages when the initial tax codes were written, that came about circa 1913, after the passage of the FRA. Did you know that even when the FRA was passed, along with the tax codes that came about during FDR, federal income taxation o individuals wage earners was voluntary? We are even a long way from the time when income taxation on wage earners was voluntary. Now it is upfront extortion. The tax collectors get their cut before anyone else. Now if that is not extortion, what is it?

No it is NOT extortion since you obviously don't even know what the term means.

"Taxes are the price we* pay to live in a civilized society"
    Oliver Wendell Holmes.

    *We the People

Your taxes pay for law and order, they pay for infrastructure, they pay for the military, they pay for the healthcare of your elderly parents, they pay for firefighters and EMT's, etc, etc.

Now if you want to live in the wilderness without roads or police or doctors then there are other places out there but We the People choose instead to live in a CIVILIZED society and that is what our taxes pay for.

That is NOT extortion since you are free to go elsewhere if you don't want any of those things.

But if you do want them then you just have to pay your share because that is what it means to live in a civilized society.

    Extortion
    noun
    1. the act of instance of extorting.
    2. Law the crime of obtaining money or some other thing of value by the abuse of one's office or authority.
    3. oppressive or illegal exaction, as of excessive price or interest.

Being that I do not know what extortion is, maybe you can give it a go? :juggle:

Just quoting a dictionary definition does not support your bogus allegation.

All that is happening is that you are expected to pay your share for the upkeep of the civilized society that We the People have established.

If you don't want to you then nothing is stopping you from going elsewhere.

Actually you do since you both enjoy the freedoms that We the People protect with out government OF the People and FOR the People.

As a citizen I have a duty to protect your rights and their rights equally. I am sure that they will defend your rights and my rights if necessary and I am also sure that you would do the same for us.

So we all have that in common and there is way more that binds us than divides us.

As the song that I posted from "Those F'ing Armenians" (System Of A Down) says "Self- Righteous Suicide", there seems to be plenty of this in these here parts. .

I agree that it sure seems that separation would be the answer, but it opens up a can of worms neither side really wants to address. For all the boasting of conservatives and the amount "red" states they proclaim, just look at the economic factors of the majority of those states. Many of those states have some of the poorest counties in the nation which rely on federal assistance at disproportionate levels. Some states are so geographically limited in natural resources that they would be bankrupt without the assistance of other states. This in turn would cause mass migration from those areas to others that are more lucrative, but straining their infrastructure. War would still be inevitable.

States like Nevada and Arizona have limited water supplies and are dependent on the Colorado River. Florida is predicted to lose massive stretches of land due to rising sea levels over the next 30 years. The probability of far more intense hurricanes will make the Gulf and Atlantic states susceptible to major economic and environmental catastrophes. The West could do better so long as the earth doesn't shift beneath our feet, which according to geologists, it will.

I read in the paper today that the following states refuse a request by President Trump for voting data that would help in investigating voter fraud:
Maryland, Delaware, Louisiana, Virginia, Kentucky, California, New York and Massachusetts. This comes as no surprise to me because all of these states have a history with voter fraud, and people want to wonder why I have no faith or confidence in the political system, and much less in those who advocate government. If you have elected and unelected persons in states known for their corruption, then why oh why should I have confidence in either? From Huey P. Long to Willie Brown to Steven Beshear, and the list goes on. America is Dead under its own weight of skulduggery, political pandering, nepotism, cronyism, quid pro quo, etc. It won't be long now. Oh Satan, from whence doth thou come? From Up, Down, To, and Fro in the Earth, SEEKING ALL THAT I CAN DEVOUR! Yes, the plague of Locusts is here and they are devouring with insatiable appetite.
