It seems that your ideological underpinnings are once again leading you to erroneous conclusions. Are you not aware that liberals invented electricity. Are you not aware that modern scientific agriculture came from liberal minds. You didn't think organic and healthy foods were conservative ideas did you? Who needs your gasoline and coal when we have hydro, wind, solar, and other renewable energy sources.

In conservative thought, agriculture and natural resources are the source of wealth creation. Liberals know better, seeing the greatest economic opportunities in innovation. That is why liberal areas are always so much better off, economically than conservative areas.

It is the 'Blues' who cannot cope with change. :roflol: Intolerance seems to be their typical position when challenged. That is a sign of mental illness.:psychoitc: I really don't believe most 'Blues' want a separate country, I think it's all flamebait B.S :machinegun:.

Not at all. Voluntary interactions are not interference, they are cooperative efforts- and generally, people regulated by their personal values and self-respect do this very well and we all benefit from that kind of interaction. However, mandatory interactions are another thing- and while we recognize that a nation must have some mandatory rules and laws controlling conduct, we recognize that the basis of most law is still respect for the rights of others, both to individual and society. . We have so many legal forces (laws, courts, police) because so many people refuse to regulate themselves. The line is crossed when what one person decides to do damages another person or their rights. That includes demanding empathy or support of any kind because you think it's deserved.

It's like a beauty contest, to be fair we had to let the ugly try too :) Same with the leftist, only difference is all they had was a couple of old porch mutts and two other from the coyote fugly bar "Janitors"! Point is Oberry was such a disaster he paved the way for a Trump election, and the hilarity behind all this is, the Leftist think OBerry was something special! Fact is he sucked so bad he couldn't even get Granny elected, he couldn't even fill a basketball arena in the end :)

We've seen the future of Democratic run states, and it's in Illinois. NOW.

As I much as I'd like to see Peppermint and her band of lefty idealists break off into failed bankrupt state ghettos, it's not going to happen. They need the rest of us to bail them out, and they know it.

It's amusing hearing the whining, but that's all it is. That's all it will ever be.

This website is one constant whine from kids, psuedo-intellectuals and plain old pissed-off folks who can't stand the idea that Donald Trump is the President of the United States.

They would rather inflict on to us half-baked conspiracy theories and fake news from mass hysteria (I mean media) crying heads (and God knows who else) who insist without proof that some force other than the American people elected him.

When logic runs out, they stoop to name calling and shouting about what they consider to be Trump's inability to hold office in spite of the fact that the economy is up and illegal immigration is down.

They are completely ape over the fact that Trump put a conservative on the Supreme Court and may do so again.

The more Trump wins, the more Trump Haters froth.

    Have I left anything out?

It simply doesn't matter where it was invented. What matters is where it is generated. The highly populated areas of the coasts simply don't have a lot of places to build out electric generation. Nor do they have the energy production the red states have.

    You are deflecting!

You simply won't have the acreage needed to grow the grain you will need let alone run the livestock you will need. It *is* a matter of acreage.

ROFL! Yeah, you are all going to ride bicycles to work, right? You simply don't generate enough energy in the blue states to meet your populations needs.

It's hard to innovate when your children are starving.

You *really* should investigate what you will need on a much more comprehensive basis. The blue states simply don't produce enough wheat, corn, flour, pork, cattle, oil, natural gas, kerosene, diesel fuel, and gasoline to keep your population fed and working. How many fish farms do you have on the coasts?

Remember, the railroads, highways, and electric grids between the east coast and the west coast go right through the center of the red states so it is also going to cost you dearly to sell anything between the two coasts.

I would also point out that you need to take a look at where many of the military bases, both land and sea, are located. And you need to look at where the attack routes will be for external enemies, i.e. the coasts. Where are you going to put your strategic air bases, your army training bases?

You can make all the rationalizations you want, it is reality that will tell.

LOL, our hackers will see to it all your infrastructure shut down and all your iPhones go dead. Your Windows OS will display laughing skulls before your computer self destruct, your airports stop functioning. In short, your red states will return to the cavemen's state where you wished it to be.

Feelings of entitlement are far different from desperate need, but the former applies MORE to the extremely wealthy than to the poor.

Economic freedom and ambition have been important factors in the development of our nation, and naturally, we don’t want to stifle them. However, we cannot escape the fact that in America, money has achieved a station as the top priority on our official national values scale, and propaganda by special interest groups has succeeded in convincing the general public that reduction of taxes and reducing government expenditures are essential at this time in order to save our country. Can nobody realize that the undue influence of money as a value has encouraged the government to neglect regulation of the business sector to the point where corporate enterprise has become predatory and even parasitic in nature? “ Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” were to have been the primary goals in the establishment of our government, and if they are not met, and especially if government prevents attainment of these goals, what exactly is the purpose of our Constitution? Wealth and power were not meant to overshadow the welfare of our citizens, many of whom are now at risk due to the overwhelming influence of greed. When it becomes necessary to repair a weakened structure, does it make any sense to reinforce the strongest components and neglect the weakest? Furthermore, if money IS the source of our strength, is it the purpose of the strong in society to assist the weak, or to ignore, exploit or subdue them? Is it more beneficial to subsidize greed than to satisfy need???

The power of wealth has not only corrupted our government via lobbyists and campaign contributors, but has poisoned the minds of many in our general populace. Poverty has come to be thought of as a just punishment for the irresponsible rather than the plight of the unfortunate. Those who capitalize on the losses of others as well as those whose victimization of others leads to their impoverishment are absolved from guilt by a society which no longer has the ability to prioritize its values enough to maintain stability.

We pardon the perpetrators of these atrocities for the sake of “free enterprise”, but the victims, impoverished, in despair, and no longer able to support themselves because of overwhelming obligations which they can’t escape, are blamed for the economic woes of our country for requiring public assistance at government expense. In my mind, if society permits unfair exploitations of individuals, then we share the guilt for the offenses as well as the responsibility for rehabilitations. It would, however, be to the benefit of all if the deficiencies in government would be corrected in order to prevent this type of exploitation.

Think of this as a triage situation. . . . Is it more important to fill the coffers of the rich than to provide lifesaving care for the indigent???

You and I have far different motivations and probably will never agree who the REAL victims are.

Have you noticed how most on the right on this thread are quite perturbed by the thought of the blue states cutting ties that bind with them? I am a bit surprised that they are not in favor of this idea but I suppose it's the financial aspect and their fear of being left in the dust.

Plenty of nukes in California. If that's the road you wish to take.

What you have proven is that you seek to control everyone else. That is the truth of today's conservatism. It is driven by pure selfishness and authoritarianism, all wrapped in religious fantasy. A big sht burrito. Someone like Trump was bound to be crapped out sooner or later. .

I'm not "perturbed" at all. Since blue states are collectively in a downward spiral towards fiscal insolvency, I'm all for cutting ties. I'll probably need to move from California when we get closer to that tipping point,. I have no interest in being forced to bailout the financial implosion almost guaranteed to happen.

The reality is we can't get rid of you, as much as we'd like to. When you love America, it's frustrating to watch determined leftists try to turn our country into another failed Western Europe. But keep the entertainment up....

Eliminate Federal taxes and it's a whole new ballgame. ;)

How can anyone love a country that has betrayed its own principles? Would you love America if Hitler was elected. Do you have any limits as to what kind of monster you will put in office and still "love America"?

Do you support the 2nd Amendment? If so, why?

How would you support yourselves though? Stuff like livestock, grain, food...etc are produced mainly in the red states.

I refer you to the western blue states. Plenty of farmland and livestock in Washington Oregon and California. Lots of fishing, and logging, as well.

Neither the west coast or the east coast blue states would hunger or thirst without the red states for sure. In fact, the red states would probably beg to negotiate with us on trade...lol

This is probably the first thread I have ever seen where people from different political stripes actually agree.... basically you agree you want nothing to do with each other.

Time for a bit of a reality check. Even if this whole thing went as far as actual secession, the blue and red states would still be heavily economically interdependent. The blue states wouldn't even need that much farmland, there would be enough red state farmers with a surplus competing to export to the heavily populated blue states.

Also, taxes are far from the only reason why any company would set up shop in your state. For low tech-manufacturing it can make a big difference, but for high added value products and design work a reliable supply of creative talent and market access matters much more. Silicon Valley didn't happen overnight, it took decades. And all companies will want access to the relatively wealthier markets of the big cities. Blue states will buy produce and manufactured goods from red states, while the red states will want your high-tech gadgets, services and expertise from blue states.

You might be politically independent, but don't kid yourself, you're still going to be heavily dependent on each other for trade.

It's almost inevitable at this point. Regardless of the formalities of an officail exit, the separation is already in motion.

Nope, I think we will do just fine. We will be delighted to share our cornucopia with our blue allies in the north and east
