Well Poland see the EU as owing them. And since Churchill had no choice but to turn his back on them and give them to the USSR, I'd say they've got a pretty good case.
The EU law is not a valid case in a country that's acting like a country on the make from the EU. Poland joined the EU to help Poland, not Germany.
As I said, you just talk to yourself. The point I made was that the EU is concerned at Poland taking away the Independence of her Judiciary. I said that regardless of what anyone thought about the EU or Poland what the EU is doing is in the interests of the people of Poland. The Independence of the Judiciary is one of the checks and balances on democracy - one which as I also said is helping to keep Britain's democracy at this time.. This however you have no interest in, nothing to say. It is like you are a broken record saying the same thing regardless of what is said. Like I said then I remembered from other threads that that is what you come on for...just to talk to yourself. I will leave you to it.
OMG! I think it was this I saw from France24 on TV (I watch all the news channels) so I it seems I was confused when I spoke of something I saw on TV on Euronews.
Thankfully, any sanctions against Poland need the support of all EU members and Hungary are in support of Poland. But how do you justify the EU telling members what to do? The EU should just help with trade, not politics.
Of course Hungary are in support of Poland. They are both moving back to fascism. You have to make up your mind whether you do not support xenophobia as you seemed to be claiming in another thread in a different forum on this site or not. https://news.vice.com/story/poland-populist-government-far-right-extremism The EU should be quite happy to see them gone. Poland has a bit of a problem because it does not fancy Russia either.
For a lot of countries, so far, the EU has been all about the bribes. All the newest countries got bribed to join. Ireland Greece, Poland... all of them. after a while this carrot is going to be replaced by the stick. Because in the end, the money will run out. They've been lent this money to invest in infrastructure to develop their economies to point where they can rival ours. And they have spent this money, this investment, on a singing club for old people in a village somewhere. So when it comes time to repay that money and the old people haven't made any return on it whatsover from their singing.... Then Greece. Then Ireland. Then austerity. Wait till they get an army. Just wait.
I'm seeing a solution. It does mean special status for Poland within the EU because of disputes over migration numbers demanded by Brussels and an open mind to view corruption enough to warrant a purge of it from Polish courts.
Not to be funny, Europe, I know we all know each other anyway, but, I'm sure we all know Polish people. They're a source of affordable hard working honest labour... Can't we show that economic love back, if they are free and do come to do the hard work they do, can't we thank them, say, okay, FINE, no refugees for you since you don't recognise their status due to geographical proximity and a fear of having to change to keep the economic promise of the EU. As for the courts, it does mean perhaps legally bringing the question of an EU controlled by a questionable few into some sort of dialog. And - Perhaps the United Nations can review Poland and the EU and displaced refugees from these conflicts.
Well, Poland sort of was, you know, thrown back a 100 years. Went from producing Madame Curies in Europe to people who fix our plumbing through no fault of their own, believe it not - Poland and only they - can claim Germany and USSR and Britain and France let her down/let Poland down, and these are a great people. Call it an offset for the 20th Century, give Poland her moment, get Merkel, Putin, Theresa May in, have some ceremony to say sorry, give Poland this offset to right the wrongs of the past... and make Poland happy that day, all smiling, like she ought to, she's beautiful. Then.... Keep a close eye, and call it an international crises if the PiS (ruling party in Poland) goes fascist.
No wrongs have been done to Poland by the EU. Mrs May owes them nothing. I owe them nothing. The EU did not cause 100 years of Polish suffering. The people who live in the EU did not cause Poland a 100 years of suffering. How about we go through the history of every nation in the world and any time we find one that had a hard time, give it a bazillion pounds? Hmm. No. Let's not. How about Poland has day of apologising for all the invasions and genocides it did to it's neighbours. How about they repay Ukraine? They aren't saints old son. Nothing the Russians and Germans did to them, that they themselves haven't done to others. How about they repay Russia and Germany too. How about we stop giving people something for nothing, when we are ourselves will get no reciprocation and not even any thanks. I don't have spare money to donate to every charity anyone can think of. Who does? I feel no guilt for Poland. I can't imagine many people do. What have the actions of WW2 got to do with Germans who were unborn at that time? Nothing. Poland can F off. Swivel for it. Are you dating a Polish girl?
Polska girls look good.... Sorry, I was with you until that last line and lost my train of thought. . Well, it wasn't Poland's fault.
Sure, Polish people are entirely blameless in their own history. It's everyone else's fault but not theirs. I'll give you a hint about Poland, what went around, came around. They ran a brutal empire and when they lost it, they got their reciprocation.
1) Reparations now??? More than 50 years later??? 2) Reparations after WWI were a major cause of the rise of the Nazis. 3) If there were to be reparations, who will collect from Russia??? Stalin attacked Poland from the East as Hitler invaded from the West, and there is the Katyn massacre ordered by Stalin of Polish officers. 4) Was Poland unaware of EU policy when it asked to join??
I don't think that was EU policy when they joined. I think it became EU policy when Merkel screwed up and accidently invited a veritable army of migrants to come live in Germany,
Poland's president said he will veto the controversial reforms. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...dent-to-veto-controversial-laws-amid-protests
I'm actually really proud, and happy about this. Score 1 for Poland. I'm not even Polish but I'm happy about them, perhaps my faith in mankind can be restored so I don't have to root for a bunch of fascists against foreign fascists dressed up as liberals asking Poland to do Germany a favour.
Poland sees the E.U. committing suicide and simply wants no part of it. First the Gerrmans, then the Russians, and now suicide by migrant / Terrorists saturation.
