BS. What evidence do you ever have about any human history older than 2000 years. Basically history as a kind of truth can hardly be evidenced. Jewish historian Josephus wrote a series of books grouped in books, chapters, sections. Now read through the books then tell us how many sections can be evidenced. History in a nutshell is a result of human witnessing. You can't even have what you yourself just did yesterday evidenced.
What are you talking about ? I never said anything about historical evidence. This has nothing to do with anything I said ? Perhaps you mistakenly posted this to me as I does not relate to anything I said.
The core of the NT is the Gospels, and the core of the Gospels is the words of Christ; so were there any conflict between the OT and the NT, we'd see evidence of it there... ...and we don't.
You don't, because you do not wish to. The rest of us see it very plainly and there is great conflict.
The OP's rational is actually why there were many early Christians who felt that the God of the Old testament and Jesus were not one and the same. The Gnostics, for example, believed that Jesus came from the True God, a deistic, Buudha-like figure, who created lesser gods, including the Old Testiment god, to watch over the universe. However, the god of the old testiment became power hungry and took over the universe and forced humans to worship him as their creator.
A truthful person would realize that the people of that early time had a more accurate vision of the truth of the situation, having lived through it, that those who have made up changes to suit their needs for 2000 years.
What you express is the myth that Gnostic Christians used to argue against Yahweh. In Gnostic Christianity, there is not belief in the supernatural. Jesus, to us, is just an archetypal good man. A man, not a God. Regards DL
The logic works like this -- 1 -- like all spammers and flamers you don't have an avatar; 2 -- you are irrational; Ergo you are going on iggy.
Jesus supported Roman taxation -- "render to Caesar ...". There is no reason to ass-u-me that He would not support modern taxation as well.
A typical response from those with your mindset. Can't prove your position so you try insults, then run away before being further challenged.
So in all of history, none were moral before this Jesus of yours, none who do not believe in him, none who differ with your views could possibly be moral? Doesn't that contradict some of your precious teachings, this attitude of yours?
Born again xtians are the worst among protestant denominations for being an anathema to the morality and the teachings of Jesus. Born again Christians are in denial of the most important teachings of Jesus. It is the Fundamentalists that go around quoting OT Law and espousing OT principles.
Which Jesus? There is the Roman created wimp who kisses a lot of Roman and religious God ass whose morals are really poor, and there is the more liberating Jesus who warns us of the corruption in both political ands religious arenas. I like that last Jesus as he is way more moral than the no-divorce and substitutionary punishment promoting Jesus. Regards DL
What have you and most of us done to deserve eternal condemnation from God? I gave done nothing that bad and neither have most people, so do give some thought to your answer. Regards DL
Nope. There are more people that do not believe your nonsense than do believe it. You are claiming that none of them are or can be moral. If being moral has to subscribe to your rules, count me out.
