Typical politician double-speak: Trump gets to look good standing behind a podium, and everyone can interpret his word-mush however feels best to them.

The problem with your argument is that you just accept that it is legitimate that, Pot for example, is illegal. Bad men make bad laws and this is one of them.

The DOI puts individual rights and freedoms "Above" the legitimate authority of Gov't. If there are to be limitations on Gov't power (something the founders believed in and a main tenet of Republicanism) .... what then is the power of Gov't limited to ?

I can go into detail but Jefferson sums it up nicely -
In other words the legitimate authority of Gov't extends only to punishing people for direct harm ... one human against another (rape, murder, theft and so on).
Rights end where nose of another begins .. this is also where Gov't power is supposed to begin and end with respect to individual liberty "unless" we the people change the social contract and authorize the Gov't to make law.

This authorization is not on the basis of a simple majority 50+1. Messing with individual liberty is supposed to require an overwhelming majority ... at least 66%.
If this was not the case there would be no point in putting liberty above the authority of Gov't... as every Gov't (Fed, State, Municipal) has a simple majority mandate.

So .. if you can get 66% in a referendum or at least there is a reasonable expectation that there is this much agreement ... the law is legitimate.

There are few people that think murder should not be illegal. The bar is no different for any other law.

What is worse is that Trump want's the Forfeiture laws reinstated. This violates the rule of law "innocent until proven guilty" and "no man is to be punished for the actions of another"

Trump is not a "man of the people". He is an elitist who shares the eugenics ideology of his Father. Trump is a perfect Establishment candidate and so far has only continued the Establishment platform. The reason the Establishment does not like him is because he speaks aloud what the establishment things ... and this is a no no.

Keep in mind that you're arguing with people who thought Hurricane Katrina was racist, that was the hurricane in Chocolate City.

I see posts in other threads saying he made it a left, right issue, but now we see that is just more lies. But now the left complains he didn't mention certain groups. Considering the violence was started by the anti's and BLM groups, I guess Trump should have called them out right? Trump didn't play the identity politics game and rightly made general statements calling for peace. So we have some complaining Trump made it a left right issue and another complain that Trump didn't call out certain groups. This is the perfect example that the left will complain and whine no matter what Trump does.

I'm not on the left. Also, he was supposed to call out the white supremacist and nazi groups for their racist ideology. Not just the fact that one of them ran over 19 people.

The problem is that many of those Soros sponsored antifa criminals aren"t Americans at all. They hate the country, they regularly burn the U.S flag.

Why was he suppose to do that? Do Democrats call out BLM? How many in that crowd demonstrating against the statue removal belonged to those two groups? I saw the picture and considering our MSM that could have been the only ones in a group of thousands but they will crop it to make it look like they were the majority.

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/12/virginia-unite-the-right-rally-protest-violence

Look at the picture of supposed "far right" protesters, the guy in the white shirt looks Black to me, Looking at the others, they don't look like KKK or nazi's to me. Maybe the MSM just wants to portray them as such.

Bringing Americans and white supremacists and nazis together? I'll do my best to united with conservatives but I wouldn't lift a finger to unite with hitler worshippers.

Why attempt to contrive diversions to days of yore?

"Current Events" concerns the present - neo nazi mayhem and their "Glorious Leader"'s feeble response to it.

The VA governor is a sleazy political reptile, a former DNC head under FBI investigation last year, and someone who attempted to bribe Nader in 2004 while running the DNC.

He bought the governorship with DNC cash, and is one of the worst Democrats ever to slither onto the national scene.

His pandering nonsense today might be a bit more convincing if he weren't the lowest of political scum, but he's a donkeyboy through and through, and as slippery as a Clinton covered in baby oil.

It's funny that Trump whined about Obama not saying 'radical Islamic terrorism' for years and now he won't say "white supremacist"

Why would he?Pro-white movement has nothing to do with terrorism. So trying to equate pro-White movement with radical Islamic mainly Sunni terrorism is beyond idiotic.

He's not really condemning anything with his pusillanimous sound bites.
He can't afford to alienate his base. He ignored the mosque bombing in Minnesota. He deflected any criticism for the diplomat expulsion with a weak attempt at sarcasm. He regularly promotes or excuses violence and bigotry.
Notice that he never attacks the far right nor the Russians and only offers some perfunctory hand wringing when forced to comment on them.
But the spectacle of Trump's deplorables running amok, chanting nazi slogans, murdering people with cars like the cowardly Muslim terrorists do, is a potent symbol of what is wrong with Trump and the alt right.
Patience. They are hanging themselves with the rope they won in November.
The right-wing extremists and their great orange hope are exposing who they really are for everyone to see.

LMAO...What's wrong? Can't your great orange hope do two things at once?
Did you ever think that you would be polishing turds for the kkk as part of your job as a trump supporter?
    Aren't you embarrassed yet?

The bigger problem is how many crazed liberals actually support those violent antifa criminals who destroy and burn prperty across the country. And regularly burn the U.S flags and wave flags of foreign countries. How do you justify that?
