Where did you get that little bit of inaccuracy. Most were erected during the Jim Crow era and the civil rights era.

That's funny, because a person I used to work with who was from Russia told me an often used Russian saying was >>> "It is not the future of Russia that causes us so much uncertainty or confusion as much as our past that keeps changing on us."

IOW, the Kremilin changes the "facts" and laurels of history more than the Ukrainians actions or anyone else.

Today the State Department has officially stopped all Russian people from travelling to the US. Ominous isn't it? Maybe we should start taking our heads out of the sand, and start looking around to see what's being done in our name... as well as what the future holds.

The reason for this is that Russia kicked out diplomats (CIA Agents), so as to equalize Washington's diplomatic staff to the same amount of personnel as the Russians have in the US. This was done in response by Russia to the theft of Russian property in the US by Obama, which Trump refused to return without getting some favors in return. Extortion anyone? Seems nothing is beneath us now?

Here are a few excerpts from an excellent article in the Duran:

    ****
Above the half-witted mainstream media’s shrill noise about Charlottesville’s George Soros funded, statue-destroying, history-erasing, tattooed LGBT left-wing anarchists, we can hear something far more frightening. We hear the gargantuan growling curses of cannibal giants—the morally lobotomized military industrial complex—hiding in the darkness, scraping swords against stones and cracking knuckles, as they prepare to clash; and in the process of their reckless grappling, crush civilization and crumble landscapes. The question is what will trigger their fight?

The U.S. justification for this action, so we’re told, is because the Russian government had previously ordered U.S. State Department staff (CIA agents) to leave Russia in order to create a more equal number of Russians and Americans working in each others’ embassies. Of course, what is conveniently ignored is that in December 2016 President Obama, in violation of international law, seized the Russian Government’s summer house and property in the Washington DC metro area, and Trump has continued the crime by refusing to return the Russian property without getting some kind of “benefit” in return. Extortion anyone?

    ****
The supreme law of the land is the Constitution, and it is clear: no federal or state law, statute, code, or policy can exist that violates or undermines any part of the Constitution. Anything that does, is unlawful and has no authority over citizens. The reason for America’s obscenely immoral Congress is because they have abandoned and hated the idea of truth animating all government laws and actions.

Let us always remember that truth is the union between a people and their government. Truth is the life force behind all law, and the U.S. Constitution; it is the substance of contracts; it is the light guiding man’s righteous claim and defense of his inalienable rights; it is the spirit of a responsible and benevolent self-government.

Truth is the soul of justice, the shape of love, and the sound of peace. But sadly the corruption of man, his lusts, and selfish pride reject this principle in exchange for the shifting sands of pleasure and popular opinion.

    ****
By ignoring truth when making law, Congress destroys both. Without truth, there is no semblance of government authority, there is only the tyranny of DEEP STATE bureaucrats who channel fear to continue their power.

So that must include koba stalin, Beria, kaganovich, etc, as they didn't seem to like "anyone" either , not just "bolshevekeh".

If one stops to think about it....Russians aren't exactly well liked anywhere...I'd stop them from travelling to US also perhaps. The same can be said about US.

And so they should remove those statues, they are of a failed ideology, kartoshka Ninian, that same failed ideology was foisted in the rest of the republics, what choice did these countries have. Perhaps they should melt down all of Lenin's mug, make toilet flushing handles, seems more fitting, don't you think?:)).

Yeah, the removal of the statues is a political announcement as much as the original erections were. Both could be wrong.

I get that Ukraine is lousy with statues of Lenin. Getting rid of most of them allows for new heroes. But some should remain in full context so people can see how USSR tried to impose its ideals upon Ukraine and also how non-military and pro-intellectual this over-bearing image is. As a statue of oppression its quite interesting.

In the years of the Russian Civil War (1918-1922) and in the course of the cultural revolution aimed at by the Bolsheviks, libraries were ransacked in the Soviet Union of the late 1920s, books were burnt and otherwise destroyed because they countered to the ideas and ideology of the Bolsheviks and the Communism.

As far as I agree, I would draw a clear border here, because there is a really more than justified exception ...

Let us assume that in 1941 the Nazis had placed a large Adolf Hitler statue in the occupied Paris, next to the Tour Eiffel, as a monument to the victory over France in 1940 ... should this statue continue to exist, or continue to exist at all?

By that logic, all history books should be burned and teaching history banned as all are "failed" ideologies, institutions and governments. People should have NO reference points in voting and government should start with empty brains when forming policies and making laws. Entire old city centers like Venice, Italy, and London should be bulldozed down. Also, any sports team that was not #1 for the year should be erased for all sporting records.

Yes, it should. An educational plaque should be placed with it explaining what it is and why it is there. France with its ancient generals and unlimited sense of superiority did not believe they could be conquered by Germany. France had a larger military and alliance with Britain. The statute would teach a lesson of the price of such arrogance and national endangerment it causes.

Germany should have left on area of entire blocks of bombed and burned out building in Berlin for the same reason, with historic plaques explaining why.

Fact is and this is not deniable that the Bolshevik destroyed thousands of orthodox churches and monasteries, as well building of other religions too like mosques ... or used them further as stables or storage rooms. With this destruction wave were not only many thousands priests and monks killed and / or sent to Siberia in labor camps etc., but also all bibles and religious art works destroyed.
==> Please don't try to deny this, because this was even told by Putin that this happened, because it annoyed himself!

Further way were also libraries stormed and here the author took as far as I know also archives of the KGB in Moscow and other archives in other Ex-USSR Republics as source.

This type of system that this individual embodied, and others like him, basically murdered millions, countless millions, so it's stands to reason.

Well, present proofs. I CAN proof that government of Ukraine artificially inflated number of Golodomor victims.
"According to the findings of the Court of Appeal of Kiev in 2010, the demographic losses due to the famine amounted to 10 million, with 3.9 million direct famine deaths, and a further 6.1 million birth deficit."
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor
"Over ten millions" sounds kinda more impressive than four, now does it?

So, what about government of my country "changing facts"?

Prooflinks, please. Of such action during Civil War I haven't heard.
In English, maybe? And with direct quotes? I do not have time to go through a whole book in german just to check if your information is correct or not.

Well, nobody denies soviet anti-religion campaigns. But you said russians have been burning books, in similar fashion as germans were doing that in 30th. THAT you have to prove.

Sorry ... I did not say in same style or similar to the crime of the Nazis ... I said that they have learned it form the Russians!
And this term does not say the Russians did in same scale... but they did and how much bigger the other one does then is not the topic here!
