How are they going to reimburse, since they have said time after time that they won't pay?
Its a pathetic excuse on your part.

umm... school boards are part of government. They're even elected, same as we elect mayors and senators.

School boards are parents, members of the community. They have nothing to do with government, only educating their children.

Politicians are also parents and members of the community. This doesn't make them not part of government.

You don't seem to quite understand what government is. It's not just pieces of paper with signatures from elected representatives, but the whole thing, including the employees. Those employees are public school teachers, law enforcement officials, military personnel, fire fighters, presidents, mayors, and school board members.

None of those people are market facing, which means that when they spend money, it is not money they had to work for. It's money that is literally taken by coercion or actual force from tax payers. When they need more, they simply take it. There is no incentive for them to be thrifty or frugal, and in fact, the opposite is the case. If they can spend everything in their budget and still not be able to do their jobs, the excuse is always that they don't have a big enough budget.

Wow, you seem to think they have a choice. If the US said Mexico would pay....they would pay.

I recently spent a week in Osaka. If you think you know what humping gear through hot areas is, wait until you've tried lugging a week's worth of luggage around in 100 degree weather and 95% humidity surrounded by tourists and locals while completely and hopelessly lost.

You military boyahs have it far too easy.

Yeah? Learn any Osaka ben while you were there?

So you moved some wheeled suitcases from a vehicle to a hotel and now you think you know what it's like to be in the military.

No, I don't think I learned anything, except that the train system there was designed by a committee of lunatics. And sorry, but no wheels. I travel old school like the good lord intended.

Except he can't just magic these things. He'd have to go through Congress, and neither Democrats nor fiscal conservatives (who, unlike Trump, at least try to pretend to take property rights seriously) are going to support that.

Plus you are only looking at the cost of construction. What about all of the legal costs that are going to be required and the cash we are going to have to shell out to reimburse people for their land?

I'm old enough to remember when government shut downs were a yearly occasion. 1976 Ford had one. 1977-80 There were five under Jimmy Carter, eight under Reagan 1981-88, 14 government shutdowns in 12 years. No big thing.

Bush I 1989-92 had only one, Bill Clinton 1993-2000 had two. Bush II none, 2001-2008, 2009-2016 Obama one. For us old foggies who have been through them all, we don't see why one would even worry about a shut down. The same thing happens in them all, all essential government employees continue to work. All non-essential government employees get a vacation and are paid for that vacation once the government shut down ends. Standard SOP.

Getting upset over a government shutdown, you must be pretty young.

I think most people who join the military oftentimes do so with more good intentions than brains. It took us five years to defeat two real military powers. Now we can't even beat a country that has no military, even after seventeen years.

I think a government shutdown is a good thing, it will either eradicates the deep state which exists in Washington and/or cut down government spending and thus means a better society.

The government shutdown also means Obamacare is stopped, which means lower health care premiums, and better doctors.

This will also mean that Congress will actually have to start working for the American people, and not for their vested interests if they want to get paid.

All of which are huge positives.

The only "negative" is the crying of the lefties, however, their tears could easily fill Hoover Dam many times over, thus providing an endless supply of water. So positives all around.

Did I say either of those things?

This isn't about a wall. This is about doing the things that will secure our borders.

All of which are cheaper than what we are doing now.

The trains in Japan are some of the best in the world, and are easily color coded and you can set your watch by them. They also announce in English for the stops, but I'm sure you know that now.

So you took a wooden ship over there too?
