What should the penalty be for a teacher who physically abuses a child?

This video shows a 13 year old cheerleader being physically forced into a split against her will.
What should the penalty be for the teacher engaging in this act?
Since it is obviously an assault, shouldn't the teacher be charged with the crime of assault?

Cheerleader? Isn't that a voluntary extra-curricular activity? Obviously, you've never participated in organized sports. snow.jpg

'Administration leave' is bullshit! Anyone involved with this should be fired! You can seriously tear tendons and muscle! Stupid idiot.

I'm sorry but the girl is being forced by the teacher to do something she doesn't want to do. Are you really okay with that?

If it was truly against her will, everyone involved should be locked up.

But this narrative doesnt make any sense.

Wouldnt they just kick her out if she cant split? That looks more like she was trying to make tryouts and having people help her do something she wasnt ready for. Ive seen people have their friends hold them down for tattoos before- they cry and squirm through it because they have a low pain threshhold and little self control, but they *really* want it so they ask other people to help. I only mention this because 'the news' lately blows nothing stories way out of proportion for ratings and it seems like what they're showing you is rarely whats really happening.

But ya, if the narritive is accurate, everyone involved needs to go down.

This has physical safety issues that demand immediate termination. It won't stop the liability but maybe you can convince the parents of sincere contrition on the part of administration and a low-key settlement is possible. There is no excuse for this.

I really believe football practice should be mandatory for all high school men. We'd have a lot fewer girly-men that we have running around now.

She isn't being forced to do anything, she's trying to make the cheerleader squad. It's not a requirement, she can quit at any time.

Forced? She said "No" or "Stop" nine times. So you would be completely okay with that happening to your daughter?

Question. Have you ever been to physical therapy?

And again, no one is forcing these girls to be cheerleaders. She's obviously not not trying to escape.

It wasn't just her, either. There are additional videos of at least seven other girls at that same practice in the same situation. And another two or three have come forward to complain who just aren't in a video. The guy should be fired and charged with multiple accounts of assault. The administrators who knew about it (there are at least three) should likewise be fired and charged with lesser crimes.

You are defending unwanted physical abuse of a child by a teacher.

Once again, I can see you've never competed in any sport. That's nothing. You really should be the center focus of "bull in the ring" sometime. :roflol:
Oh and "suicide hill" would be a nice touch as well.

Yes or No. Is it okay for a teacher to physically abuse a child against her will?

Depends on how you define abuse. Would you rather the coach give them a bag of chips to go sit and watch TV, or to train to get in condition so they can compete at the level the student would like to attain?

This is ridiculous! And sick! There is a reason why people are not considered adults at 13!

Weren't those her "teammates or fellow cheer leaders" helping her be stationary to stretch out? How the hell do you know if she beforehand told them to not let her quit no matter how much it hurt?
You don't. What else can we be offended by today? I'll do my best to help. :roflol:

SHE DIDN'T...and she's 13 ...she can't give permission to have somone hurt her....

    YOU DON'T.
...and YOU are making up stuff because you have no defense.

    From CBS:
""""But the high school freshman suffered from torn muscle tissue and a pulled hamstring and is receiving physical therapy.

"The doctor said 100 percent that the injury that she sustained was directly caused by the coach's knee on the back of her thigh forcing it the floor. She said that it could possibly fracture the pelvic system and reproductive organs as well," Kirsten said. """"

Please don't have kids, especially daughters...you seem to get pleasure from their pain...like her scumbucket coach......she was screaming for them to stop...did you enjoy that?[/QUOTE]
