I am not a member of the Democratic party. I am independent - I voted Gerald Ford and for Ross Perot in 2 elections.
Why would I quote Trump? He clearly was saying Clinton/Obama pardoned bad hombres so he felt he could do the same.

Trump can kill any investigation using the pardon. But so far, he has not tried to kill any investigation. There are genuine investigations and then there are fake ones. Fake ones assume a crime and hunt and hunt thinking if they hunt long enough, surely they will find a crime. Is that not a witch hunt? Sure it is.

 

Trump has implied I am un-American because I oppose him. I resent that.
I don't think Arpaio would go to jail - so why pardon him before sentencing??? I'll tell you why - to tell racists that Trump has your back.

 

The difference for me is I did not vote for Ford and did vote for Carter. I refused to vote for Perot due to it handing the presidency to Clinton. I saw that miles away so stuck to Bush.

He cannot kill the investigation, he can pardon, but the truth of guilt would be out. So far, he has denied guilt - I don't know how the meeting with Trump Jr., Manafort, and Kushner can be ignored - it might not be criminal, but is certainly un-American and is certainly guilt.

You guys act as if Arpaio was on his way to prison. They don't put you in Prison in my state unless the sentence is over one year. I suspect AZ is similar. Further, there is no guarantee at all that he would have gone to jail for a minute. He had far too many years of service as a great law enforcement officer.

It was definitely a "lesser of 2 evils" choice - one of many in my life.
How can you think Perot helped Clinton??? To me, if you wanted change, you could choose Clinton or Perot, if you liked things, you stuck with Bush. I believe a vote for Perot was one Clinton, not Bush, lost.
I always felt Clinton was a carnival barker. He did not get a majority of the vote, either.

 

Abraham Lincoln was a racist. Yet he gets called a great president. What I see clearly is he waged war on the public whom had voted to leave the union. When you divorce your former wife, you can't commit adultery on her. Same with leaving the union. When you depart, you can't commit treason on the former. I won't question Trumps business acumen since he became super wealthy. Like him or hate him, and to hate him shows immaturity, he is not a poor man. Heck, his properties ooze luxury and many people enjoy that luxury. His properties are in high demand.

I don't fault him for making money off TV. Why would you? Oprah Winfrey grew to have awesome wealth off a talk show. She never catches hell for it.

I can tell by your words you did not bother to read the Trump disclosures he lawfully made to the Feds. He laid himself wide open. Any connection to Russia was there. But it was not there.

I can't think of a republican who voted for Perot that planned to vote for Clinton, but when they voted for Perot, it robbed Bush of votes. I know people who but for Perot, were going to stick it out with Bush. Democrats of course supported Clinton. Perot cost us the election to Clinton. I had moments of grief with Bush though he got high approvals during the election season. But not to the point I would cost him the election by voting for Perot.

I have many times defended Ross Perot. I truly think had he become president, we all would have fared about as well as now under Trump. Both were examples of excellence in business.
