Oh you mean the bill that was more pork than relief? Those turtle tunnels in Cali really helped speed up recovery in Jersey.

This thread should be closed. It is not conducive to reasonable debates due to its flame bait rhetorics. I came in here clearly expecting words that people of Texas needing help. Instead, I'm faced with the stupidity of this thread. the OP is shameless....using a tragic situation for political grandstanding. If this is the behavior of a godly conservative, then I'd rather be an atheist. At least they don't hold pretenses.

"Sen. Cruz also didn’t mention the reason why the Sandy bill was so expensive was that red state Senators required a bribe before they would vote for it.

As Forbes reported at the time, “Why, you might ask, would the Senate be packing billions of taxpayer dollars for these areas of the country that are nowhere near the devastation brought about by superstorm Sandy into a bill designed to bring relief to those suffering from the storm that ripped the northeastern part of the nation? The answer can be found in a quick review of the states that are set to benefit from the Senate’s extra-special benevolence—states including Alabama, Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana.”

I don't excuse the GOP at all for having their hand in the cookie jar. If fact, I think it shows those that voted against it in a better light.

Don't let the continued hate mongering from the right dissuade you.
