Did anyone here ever see the Ra Expedition? There were two or three, they were a big deal at the time, I saw them all, and I don't remember a thing about them. I know in principle what they were about but they must be the most unmemorable movies I've ever seen.

If you enjoy sugar coated diatebes-bombs of poorly written romance clichees, yeah. Objectively speaking, no.

Well, it seemed as if you had already established that was the kind of movie I liked! :hmm:

Well, we can't really tell until you "come out of the closet", can we? Until then, we can only speculate. ;)

I like adventure type movies and even murder mysteries but not horror/slasher movies. I like movies with historical settings too, especially Victorian era, an interesting period, IMO. I like some old movies, and I've even seen a few black and white movies that I thought were pretty good like All About Even and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.

I will watch something like the original Halloween on Halloween just because it's Halloween though. That is a campy horror movie though.

No one in their right mind watches horror/slashies. Talk about boring and counterproductive; what can one possibly get from watching fake ghosts or sadistic torture films? "Historical movies" almost always means WW2 in Hollywood-terms and that is kind of tiredsome, but there are - of course - tons of awesome war films. ;)

Black and white films remind me of the days I stayed home from school due to sickness and watched daytime telly in a drousy mental condition. However, there is one black and white film that is truly awesome and that one is Bicycle Thieves. My father forced me to watch it when I was 12 or so and at first I was like "lolz black and white? you must be kiddin me, blud!", but then I was like "wooooow!" Please watch it. Great stuff. :D

I liked Gangs of New York which was kind of historical. I don't mean actual sticking to historical events. I mean a movie that takes place in historical times. It can be fictional though. I just think how they dressed and how they spoke and how they lived is kind of interesting. :)

I've watched a few other black and whites that I enjoyed. I just can't recall them at this time. I had a busy day, so I'm a little tired tonight.

That should be All About Eve in my other post, not All About Even. Lol. :D

Interesting. Despite all the acclaim, when I finally watched it, I was blown away by how under-rated it had been. I was also blown away when I found out it was a Spielberg movie. It was like finding out that Hamlet was written by Zane Grey. I didn't know he had it in him.

If you want an example of an over-rated film, try Fargo. I still don't get what anyone sees in that piece of crap, but it was on the AFI's list of 100 Best Movies.

Schindler's List was a good movie. I only saw it once. I would like to see it again. Sad movie though. :(

Haha, I still love the theme song from that.

I was thinking about that movie just the other day. How ironic that Williams committed suicide. Recall that in that movie, he was trying to save his wife's soul [or something to that effect...I haven't seen it for a very long time] who had committed suicide.

Did you ever realize that the song from the movie wasn't the version that made the charts?

I had the 45 put out by Coven [the first video] and played it until I wore out the grooves. :D In fact, I still have it! But I never realized that wasn't the same track used in the movie until a few years ago. WTF?!?!? :D After all these years.

On the contrary, it woulda been on my list had I remebered it.

And while I'm at it, dunno how the hell I fogot Braveheart, A Man for All Seasons and 1984, which comes damn close to doing the book justice.

Oh yeah, forgot that one too. :)

But, what about the Carry On films?

    And the 1990s one.

    Confession Time...
Carry On movies evoke Christmas Holiday televison. 'Tis part of the season, Carry On films on TV.

And what of James Bond, that other franchise too?

Too many movies for me to give a real list of 10 imo.
