Are cops really killing people simply because they're black?

16 killings in a country of 330 million. And how many of the 16 were justified? 14? 16? This is no epidemic.

The left just loves to unnecessarily stir the racial pot.

In ten years (2007-2016) about 300 people in the US were killed by lightning - an average of 30 a year. 49 from 1985 to 2014.

Yup. The data simply does not support the conclusion being pushed by those on the left.

Look at the data compiled about police shootings since January 2015. It's clear that there is absolutely no justification for the racism charge. Are there bad apples within our police forces? Undoubtedly. But the idea that police are brutalizing and killing innocent black citizens? Ludicrous in the extreme.

Agreed. Sorry, but the numbers simply don't justify the conclusion.

It's absolutely obvious this is a ridiculous ruse. The players are borderline retarded for not researching this crap first.

The number 16 was reported on TV. I looked online and found varying higher numbers but not near 16. I did find a Time article saying that there were 44 in Chicago in 2015, but about 1/2 of the cops involved were hispanic or black. That would be about 22 white cop/black victim in Chicago for 2015. The 16 number might be correct for 2016 in Chicago. The numbers still don't jive with the narrative that cops select black victims to kill when the crime stats and other circumstances are taken into consideration. See sites. I am open to being convinced otherwise though.

I think many of the shootings are based on racism, because the cops for whatever reason, assumes a black man is a criminals, but I think the bigger issue, is that cops in general have began to turn into *******. They are so afraid of having to actually deal with a confrontation that they assume any suspect at any time is trying to kill them, and so their first response in any situation is to shoot.

The combination of increased criminal activity amongst the back population and racist attitudes lead to an increased level of interaction with black men in society. The then likely hood for black men to be armed and confrontational with police officers created a situation where these officers must be on guard if they wish to increase the chances of going home after work.

Once again, look at the list of police killings since January 2015. The preponderance of people on the list are armed (or, in the case of some who are holding toys, appear to be armed). Why is it unreasonable for a cop to assume that an armed person is going to kill them? If I were ever to encounter an armed man in my home, I would assume he is trying to kill me. I suspect that you would assume likewise. But that's a secondary point. You say that you believe the shootings are racially motivated. How is that, given the racial distribution of the people that have been shot?

I would venture that 99 out of 100 people who are shot by the PoPo either:

pose a clear and immediate threat to the community and officer(s), and intend to,

are blisteringly stupid and can't follow the simplest instructions,

feel/have been taught that it's a sign of weakness to comply with (be 'dissed' by) authority (teachers, cops, bosses),

are too cowardly to kill themselves,

    or are martyring themselves.

That '1' ? considering the fact that police officers are human and make contact with millions of humans a year...humans who are very likely not on their best behavior... that's pretty impressive.

The cops were put on the defensive. Based on a falsified narrative, huge portions of our society now see cops as the enemy. How should they respond in the presence of do much danger?

The myth of racist cops is a big part of the liberal progressive religion. They do not have facts to support it so they rely on faith....like with all their phony claims.
