I know it is probably a small amount, but the media makes it seem like every black person hates America. Examples are when Michelle Obama said she was never proud of the country until her husband was elected. There was also the huge church where Rev. Wright literally preached God D America. Kaepernik also stated he couldn't support a country that was unjust. I realize this is an extreme minority, but can anybody put a guess at what percentage of black people truly hate the country? This has been getting a lot of air time, and I wondered how widespread this phenomenon actually was.
It's not about Hate. For Me it's Embarrassment. It's embarrassing how Americans treat their fellow Americans. I don't think any true Americans Hate the only Country they know of. I'm Embarrassed for the Country, but there are some people worthy of my Hate,
So Michelle Obama saying she was never proud of the country or Rev. Wright's church of GD America don't count? Why do you believe conservatives hate America?
Funny how you point to 2 people but fail to see thousands waving the Dixie flag of treason. Real funny.
Black people hating America? I don't know but Trump and his followers are sure teaching a lot of white people to hate America and reject their patriotism. When Trump made his latest threat to the NFL - stand or else - I decided I will never stand for the Anthem or flag again. No one orders Americans to worship a false god. And that's what the flag has been reduced to by Trump. It once stood for the right to peaceful protest. Now Trump is making it a symbol that stands against the right to peaceful protests.
Most people don't sweat this sort of thing. Logically no more than twenty percent of Blacks really care all that much about the issues that White Leftists and professional Black race-baiters and race-agitators keep SHRIEKING at them is of vital importance. Probably the 20 percent estimate is itself way over the top. I'm going to go out on a limb here and estimate that the number is really around 8 percent at most.
You posed an interesting question. But its really only a certain segment of the media that is portraying black people as hating america. And of course the racists have puked that crap all over social media. http://www.aei.org/publication/aei-public-opinion-study-polls-on-patriotism/ Percentage who say “extremely proud” of being American, 1994: White 49% Black 35%^ Republican 56% Democrat 47% Independent 40% Percentage who said “very proud,” of being Americam in 2014: White 67% Black 68% Republican 78% Democrat 62 % Independent 61%
It is also stupid to think an individual Disrespects an Symbol when what really matters is a Human Life. A Fire Hydrant is nothing more than a Red Iron Symbol if it only puts out Fires for just Special People.
Being Ashamed or Proud are just moments in time. There are many moments in time where I'm Ashamed or Proud of America
Back in the day, when people only got their news from network/local newscasts and newspapers I recall the almost universal apoplexy of America when Carlos and Smith so famously "saluted" their anthem. Back then, it was a much much bigger deal to way more americans than the NFL protest of today. And I might add far less balanced.
1) I doubt very many Americans hate America. 2) Since all human beings are about 99.9% genetically identical, most of our differences are cultural, not genetic. Different skin tones are as important as different paint jobs on a line of identical Ford F150 pickup trucks. 3) Culturally, "black" and "white" Americans view race differently. This was well seen in the OJ trial and continues to be a problem today. There is no doubt in my mind that certain leaders of all skin tones seek to perpetuate "race differences" for profit. 4) This link is about some of the differences various American cultures view racial issues: http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/16/politics/blacks-white-racism-united-states-polls/index.html
Here;s another source of info on the attitudes of Americans toward America, its leaders and its politics. http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/TODAY/z... 2017 Social Trends Poll (9-6-17 Release).pdf Seems there's a bunch o' white guys and brown guys and black guys that ain't too happy with Merka. But somehow I think that you aren't really interested in facts so much as your own biases.
There's a big difference between being unhappy with America and being unhappy with our national leadership. As Mark Twain was known to say "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." As this discussion shows, there are a few people who don't support our country, but there are several who don't support our government's handling of national affairs. http://www.pollingreport.com/right.htm
