No problems here. OTOH, my wife took to "sleep eating" so she cut her pill in half and is fine now.

ambien has awoken many who were in a coma for years as it fixes brain damage.

the only problem with it is it makes some live out their dreams and fantasies in real life while sleeping, and bad things have happened by those sleep walkers.

Some people sleep walk and bad things happen to them. That's why they aren't allowed in the military.

I've never known a sleep walker.Um ... what keeps them from
falling down or bruising themselves { stubbing their toes} or
    hitting their elbows.

The good thing about not going in the ocean is not getting eaten by a shark or stung by sea lice.

I like to wade in a bit, enough to say I've been there. Salt water is good for my skin. But so is clorine and nobody will bite off your leg in the swimming pool!

Different brain sections. There was an excellent example on HLN's "Forensic Files" where a man attempts to murder his neighbor with an ax then leaves. Although the neighbor is mortally wounded with with the top section of his head cut off, he woke up and executed his daily routine almost flawlessly: put his robe on, ate cereal, got his newspaper, but locked himself outside and was found dead at door with a portion of his head missing (found in the bed).

Psychologist Robert Ornstein wrote several books about consciousness including a study of brain-damaged war victims titled "The Right Mind" and "The Psychology of Consciousness".

Sharks are not a problem. Barracuda, however, are the true psychos of the sea!

I use to be a sleepwalker. As a child almost got shot except for moon light on my silver hair mama would have shot me when I was about 5 I was trying to unlock the back door and it was stuck. She kept saying stop or I'll shoot. Then another time I walked into the backyard of a neighbor and took all the clothes off their line and put them on my aunts sofa, also almost got shot by him and again except for my hair shining in moonlight.
I have jumped out of windows, and almost landed in the street, woke up miles from the house partially dressed and had to run home. Broken countless windows running in my sleep. I would tie myself to my husband in high rise hotels so it would wake him up if I tried to leave. I tried to never stay in one though. A sleep walker can do anything asleep they can awake except they can see in the dark when sleep walking where when awake they can't. As kids my brothers and I had the same dreams too.
At about age 35 I stopped sleep walking and haven't done it again in over 30 years.

One of my brothers was a sleep walker as a child. Thing is it was also like he had superhuman strength when he was sleep walking. A few times I thought by dad was going to have to give him a proper beat down in self-defense. He had a very bad habit of flipping things over when sleep walking, a few times with himself trapped underneath.

Was your brother very young? Did he stop as he got older too?
Mama was told not to ever wake me up suddenly. Always calmly lead me back to bed. But I guess when I was having a nightmare throwing myself out windows that would not be a good idea. Most of my sleep walking was peaceful though. I'm so glad I stopped doing it.

He was around 6-8 when it happened and it was only a phase that stopped much more quickly than in your case.

I get it .Kinda like here at the Smarty Bar.
No knocking back shots or ordering rounds like Hunter
Thompson for Breakfast, mind ya.He would order 3 of everything.
3 Daiquiri and 3 shrimp cocktails and 3 orders of hash browns
    with just 2 eggs benedict.
You post just enough { not lengthy mind ya } to say you've
been here.Kinda like how I approached my grade school homework.
I did just enough to make it seem like my dog ate it.
Then if the head nun called home to ask about my dog Skippy,
it was already rigged in favor of Skippy.
My Mom insisting ... Skippy can't come to the phone now.
    He's busy doing homework.

How interesting. Glad you stopped! I saw a survey the other day... if you could choose one of the following for the rest of your life, what would it be?

    1. 8 hrs uninterrupted sleep a night
    2. A clean house
    3. A car that never breaks down
    4. Fail-proof cooking that everybody loves

Most people chose 8 hrs of uninterrupted sleep.

    Signed,
On vacation and up at 6:11 am

Although I'm used to sleeping with noises, my wife isn't. In preparation for our train trip, the last couple of nights we've been sleeping with this on the television Youtube:

Toss up between 8 hrs of sleep or a clean house. I think a clean house. Cleaning will tire me out so I can sleep.
