Most guys earning in the top brackets don't have influence. You act as if people making in the few hundreds of thousands have a say.
The premise of your argument fails, as does the rest of your silly argument.

People making a few hundred thousand are not the people I am talking about as you well should have known. We are talking the people who can donate or bundle millions particularly to PACS.

Didn't need correcting as my original post was correct.

so you want to shift the tax brackets upwards and lower the tax rates of those people much closer to that of the mean income, since you are not talking about them?

If you want to take my comment wholly out of the context of this thread, it could mean people don't pay sales taxes. Since this thread is about federal taxes though, those taxes are entirely irrelevant.

My statement is still true. Half American tax filers pay no taxes.

This is incorrect. They pay no federal income taxes.

When you make a blanket statement like you keep doing, it’s incorrect. Not sure why you keep doubling down on being wrong though? All you need to do is wording correctly and you’d be fine.

Does the idea of context confuse you so much you can't understand it? This thread is about federal income taxes. When you realize that, you will realize that my comment is absolutely true. Half of tax filers pay no taxes.

Then show how I am wrong. In the context of this thread, show what taxes they pay.

They pay no federal income taxes. When you state they pay NO taxes, you are incorrect.

Just word it correctly is all.

I know context. When you state no taxes, you are incorrect. I, going to keep pointing it out if I see it.

Why are you going to keep pointing out that you can't use context? Without that very simple concept, nothing can be called a correct statement.

I’m not. I’m going to point out you are incorrect when you say they pay no taxes.

I think if Trump is going to claim his tax plan is for the benefit of the middle class 80% of the benefits should not go to the upper quintile.

For Federal taxes, each individual citizen/legal full time resident should be liable for payment in dollars or labour the equivalent of a fraction of 1 years wage at the minimum wage level, set based on prevailing circumstances, and adjusted annually to eliminate any surpluses/deficits while making each individual State responsible for taxing their inhabitants for any spending needs within their respective State.
No one who is deemed physically/mentally capable of performing some useful function should be exempted from filing, paying and/or performing an equivalent and EQUAL amount of tax for the purpose of running the Federal level of government.

so why do the people making a few hundred grand not get cuts ? You just said they are not rich enough to buy influence.
Why should they pay more ?

right, they pay no federal income taxes. Claiming they pay NO taxes is demonstrably false.
