‘It’s OK to be white’ campaign rankles higher education

Many posters use terms like right, left, alt either, conservative, liberal etc. I say Republican or Democrat. This way the confusion vanishes. Naturally no party is all one way vs some other way. So if some protest I say Democrat, they can explain how they differ with Democrats.

Not sure why since we elect from two parties. Sure, 3rd parties at times have one or two that win office, but face it, by and large, it boils down to republican vs democrat.

So why start this way? To get to the bottom of why it is okay to be white.

We republicans believed it was fine to be black, and in modern times we were working hard to get the civil rights laws passed. We hate new laws in the main, but if it promotes freedom, we are fully supporting this.

So, it is okay to be white. You did not lose rights to minorities, we helped them. Now it is time for them to help us.

Support it is okay to be white. If you do not want to, explain then. Thank you.

Whites don't need help from anyone, all whites really need is a level playing field and an end to racist policies like affirmative action...

What is really sad is the Democrats returning to their openly racist traditions. Now they won't hire straight white males for certain jobs. I had really hoped this country had turned a page on such open, blatant racism, but apparently the Democrats can't get that monkey off their backs...

 

My call for them to help us is not that we must get their help, but when minorities act to help us, things might settle down faster.

But I lost most of my hope of getting that help when seeing the hateful stuff I read from Democrats on the internet. The media fosters this hate also. I agree with your comments.

This is it in a nutshell, exactly what the left does.

They take something that is said and claim it means something other than what it does.

This is the ultimate straw man. Often they will use the words " dog whistle" when using this tactic.

 

I don't think that's it.

I think it's exploring the often tragicomic elements of cynical identity politics and political correctness taken to extremes, and reacting thereto.

But I'm not saying there aren't whites who believe they're persecuted, nor that whites aren't, at times, discriminated against.

I'm saying the posters are more nuanced than mere "fascist propaganda."

It goes without saying that it's okay to be white, but I don't support this stupid campaign which is based on false premises.

 

The premises are not false. When a black person shoots a white person race is never mentioned, when the opposite occurs race is in the headline or first sentence. There are words white people can't use or they'll be pummeled, but it's absolutely OK for other races to use those words. White people can't open a taco shop only to be forced to shut down over cultural appropriation protests. White people can't have their own awards, magazines, or tv networks. White people are the victims of racial quotas in colleges and when companies hire. According to many minority leaders, only white people can be racists. I could go on, but you should see my point.

 

Nobody feels bad for being white and no reasonable supporter of minority rights claims that its bad to be white. This sign is just a strawman argument that tries to portray minority rights supports with being anti-white.

 

Don't know about the other signs, but the one pasted above is a fake - there is different pixelation around the letters than on the rest of the image.
