No, Winchester lever action (or bolt action) rifles are not semi-automatic, but there semi-automatic rifles are. They also make a semi-automatic shotgun.

To restate what I thought was clear. If the bodyguards of the elite have select fire weapons, I want select fire weapons. Why should one class of weapons be OK for protecting the elite and not OK for protecting ordinary people? And don't give me the argument about how only the bodyguards of the elite have extensive training, etc. to control semi and full auto weapons. It is pretty easy to dump a full mag from an MP5 in full auto mode and keep it on target. And while we are talking about gun control, I challenge both liberals and conservatives to repeal the Retired Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act which exempts retired law enforcement from State and local gun laws that target the peons. Repeal this law and you will see law enforcement singing from a different song song sheet with respect to gun control. A major problem we have in this the elite and special classes in this country are exempt from laws the rest of us have to follow. When will the Clintons give up their armed bodyguards?

So what? You are forty to fifty times as likely to be stabbed, beaten or burned to death (than killed by assault type rifle)...no crowd or magazines required. I'm not trying to say that murder by assault type rifle is acceptable. Murder by any means is unacceptable. It just needs to be kept in perspective.

PS Are you still talking about assault type rifles, or are you including all garden variety standard semi auto handguns?

I like my AR-15 and I like my muzzleloader. Who the hell are you to dictate what I can and can't have. Anybody should be able to own any type of small arms they desire, automatic, semi automatic, or otherwise. **** happens sometimes. That's life. No more restrictions are needed. In fact, there should be less restrictions.
