I think everyone is missing an important point. Virtually all of the fake news revolves around politics and politics is hopelessly infested with partisan bias. Report on a biased subject and you are sure to report biased information. The press does fine until it gets involved in political reporting. At that point all of it should be ignored because partisan politics should always be ignored. People fall into the trap of reacting to what political hacks say. What they say doesn't matter. What they do matters.

The press should be held to account like any other institution in our society. But chasing politcal truth is like a cat chasing its tail. Neither will succeed.

You're like the Fake News purveyors. No wonder you support them.

You saw what you wanted to see, then projected what you wanted to see onto the other poster. He never once said that Trump would put them out of business. You added that.

It's a clash between religions. The left doesn't like it when their belief systems are challenged. They will continue to defend the institutions that reinforce their beliefs.

I don't think it's a conscious decision. I think it's a deeply rooted emotional/religious choice. I think it's subconscious. If their beliefs are challenged, they are unable to examine their beliefs. They will only shut themselves off from the debate. No amount of proof can combat deeply and religiously held beliefs.

They like to leave out context all the time. One of the biggest ones were when he told a crowd of people that people are saying he could stand in the middle of 5th and shoot someone and not lose any voters. Media left out the part where he was quoting what he was told. Claiming Trump was being sexist about what's her nuts when he said she'd do anything for money. This happens all the time. The media saying he said Mexicans are rapists. The list goes on and we both know it.

If you were cheated 1 in 5 times, would you keep gambling there?

It being the circumstance. I beleive their bias taints the truth. However even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Obama felt that way about Fox. I think the two are pretty close in accuracy and bias. However fox didnt go nearly as far, actively seeking to undermine the President.
Well, fake news was a term bandied about during the election relating to russian stories, and trup took to calling various media, mainly cnn, fake news during the campaign. I think around the time CNN had to fire all those journalists for making up anti trump fake news... no, it was earlier than that... that just proved him right. I cant say what triggered the first label.

Freedom of the press doesn't give them freedom from being criticized
